did you know elvis was the first major pop star to have voice soaked with delay effects or the slap back echo? it was meant to make his voice seem otherworldly. john lennon liked the delay on his voice on "heartbreak hotel" so much he asked for his voice on "a day in the life" to have as much delay put on it. kevin parker is known for having striking ly similar vocal tonalities with lennon especially in comparison to a day in the life. parker has said he double tracks his voice and does purposely give his vocals a trippy echo similarly to lennon.
