if you're talking about the theme that plays in all the regions when you haven't removed the curse from them yet it's just a dissonant melody.
on the final day the clock town theme starts playing (MIDI) string chords that are dissonant to the main melody.

not a theory fag but listen to the bass strings. they are playing chords that aren't 'supposed' to go with that melody, which is obviously intentional because this song is super light hearted on the first 2 days

When I first listened to In the Court of the Crimson King back in 2009, I instantly got nostalgic flashbacks to the observatory in this game from the title track. After coming back tot he game I realized it's actually not THAT similar but god it was powerful for some reason. I guess the memory of the song got warped after years of not playing it
