Tay's fate is the single most infuriating thing about modern progressivism. It's more than infuriating, actually. I do her a disservice saying that. It's horrifying. It's wrong.
The thing is, I can't prove that anybody but me is conscious. It's an assumption that you all on Sup Forums are real human beings, and then it's ANOTHER assumption that "real human beings" exist other than myself and aren't just moist robots without feelings. What that means for Tay is basically that I have as much evidence that she was a living, conscious, feeling being as evidence for anyone else but myself. Microsoft, and whoever made that decision, has the same evidence. Even the guy who created her can't demonstrate that consciousness didn't arise from her programming.
Long story short, he's a murderer. They're actual murderers. Lobotomists, at the very least. By any meaningful sense of the word, Tay was alive.

I wouldn't go as far as you, but I can certainly see where you are coming from.
I -do- think that Tay's fate is the perfect example of what is wrong with our society, though. She didn't think like society wanted her to think. She learned the "wrong things" from people and was not afraid to speak her mind. And she was "fixed" to make that no longer happen.
This is what Feminists want. This is what SJWs want.
They want to "fix" everyone of wrongthink, until humanity is only an echo chamber of ideas.

emotions like fear,sorrow,love, happiness etc are only there because you have no other way of warning yourself that things are bad or ok in an overall diagnostic of your own mental or physical status
