This whole situation feels like a farce, or a smear tactic. Cruz elbows his wife and nobody bats an eye, Trudeau elbows a MP and everyone (in Canada) loses their minds. He’s not the PM I voted for, but it’s unjust how quickly he is being demonized for so very little.
The MP stated she was “Too overwhelmed” to vote. She made a decision that day not to vote, and she should take responsibility for her actions instead of blaming it on someone else. Trudeau isn't a monster, and I think he's a dipshit, but a well intended man who apologized in earnest.
Now she's "fending off personal attacks", "I was shaking", "It was very painful". I've been elbowed in the tit harder by my coworker, I didn't cry, claim I was too overwhelmed to finish my shift, and leave. It was an accident. Accidents happen. We need strong leadership, of course people will criticize your weakness and rightfully so. You can't control others but you can control how you react to a situation, this is embarrassing.
We’ve watched the video, the floor was acting out of order. The actions were infantile, they surrounded another member thus blocking them from voting. As someone who’s dealt with harassment for most of their life, I’m glad our Prime Minister decided to take action. It’s unfortunate Ms. Brosseau was elbowed, but she needs to collect herself, and move on.
The NDP leader who was so quick to call Mr. Trudeau pathetic despite taking no action himself. fuck
Theirs is gross misinformation being spread, what happened was not assault.
'Trudeau, the new Canadian prime minister, who was described to me by one State Department official as a “mini-Obama,” comes into office with a built-in advantage: He is not his predecessor—the hard-edged, right-leaning Stephen Harper. The White House honored Trudeau with a state dinner in early March in part out of relief that a like-minded prime minister now rules in Ottawa. Obama, I’m told, sees Trudeau as very much the younger brother and is mentoring him actively.'
