Fuck me that guy always proves he is worse than I originally thought.

Having said that, Titanic is objectively good, and you would have to be obtuse to deny its powerful storytelling set in the historical context. The visuals were a sight to behold on the big screen in 1997, and they still hold up fairly well today. Its soundtrack is fairly average, even 'My Heart Will Go On' really isn't that great. But that song is still as memorable as anything John Williams came up with. Why? Because the film took that song to a whole new level, something which is very rarely seen in movies. I'm not saying the movie is the greatest, it has a lot of flaws, and if you watch the 'alternative ending' you kind of see just how bad this film really could have gone, and it makes me wonder if James Cameron got lucky or they just had the right mix of people working behind the scenes to create such a wonderful film. I certainly rate this film more than his other highest grossing blockbuster - Avatar, and don't even get me started on The Force Awakens. For me, Titanic will always be the greatest film most people have ever watched.
