i am absolutely positive that there are enough acousticguitarbros on Sup Forums for this to be a fun thread
These threads used to be pretty popular a few years ago but for whatever reason they don't really catch on much nowadays. Anyways, here's an unfinished original I've kept around for a while.
Not bad, but please tune your high e string. Also I think the song sounds much better when its finger picked throughout the whole thing. Sounded good at the beginning so I think you could have kept it going.
Fuck yeah man. I've been singing that a lot lately.
Jim Croce - Box #10
FUCK my new guitar is still being shipped. Hopefully it arrives before the thread dies, I got rasgueados up the ass for all yall.
Son House - Grinnin' In Your Face
what kinda guitar user
Lucero Electric Classical Acoustic with a cutaway. Got it on sale for less then 200 dollars. A guitar like that at my local guitar shop would sell for around 330.
Oh damn I could get in on this. Here's a Carissa's Wierd Cover.
Damn user, you've got talent. Do you have a band to back you up?
Your vocals are very Antlers-ish, but with more complex guitar work.
Big fan of Peter Silberman so that comparison means a lot, thanks m8.
I've only listened to Songs About Leaving so I'm not familiar with that song but it sounded nice. A voice like yours works well with that kind of slowcore stuff.
damn those some smooth ass vocals.
Sound quality is shit, this is a microphone recording of an iPhone video inside a garage with no soundproofing. My drumset doesn't sound anything like this clip makes it seem like. You can hardly tell the toms apart and the snare is nasty but you can mostly make out what I'm doing.
That being said I'm not actually playing a song it's just a jam/warmup.
I've only really been playing drums for 2 years or so, please keep that in mind too.
That's fucking good jesus christ
Thanks, that's good to hear :). Definitely check out their first two albums. They aren't as consistent but have almost all their best songs, especially the first.
that's a weird sounding acoustic guitar.
Thanks, user. It's just me, no band.
Didn't expect that. Really. Thank you.
Put that on an ad and you'll have a band in no time

In The Blood - John Mayer
Sittin' On The Dock (Of The Bay) - Otis Redding
Can't Help Falling In Love
Guess I'm just posting this shit alone. lmao, fuck it.
god my laptop mic sucks

(nevermind that unmuted string)
god damn it is taking forever to upload, would you mind if I just uploaded to clyp instead?
Danish?
Oh looks like we got ourselves a fucken comedian over here!
But seriously upload by any means necessary.
Never mind it's done now. Well, here you go guys. This piece was inspired by a poem called "Have You Seen the White Lily Grow?"
It's been a while since I played, it's almost 90 degrees in my room, and my microphone is shit because I was led to believe all I needed was an array mic, but recently learned what I need is actually a ribbon mic, so please excuse the shitty audio quality. I wanted to play something badass for you but I haven't picked up my guitar in a while, I probably shouldn't do that.
Sounds pretty nice to me.
Thank you very much. I tried to get as close to the microphone as I could that way my fans wouldn't drown out the sound of the guitar too much. Just think, it'll sound even better once I get me one of them fandangled ribbon mics
hows dis
lmao, I literally have that same guitar. What's up guitar doppleganger bro? Pic related is what it looks like.
Messing around with Special Rider Blues by Skip James.
not bad
also breddy gud
Playing around in C Modal
cool stuff, this a 12 string?
Thank you! No it's just a six string
Praeludium by John "The Bard" Dowland
Ah, well you must have one of them fancy guitars then haha. But yeah sometimes I hear a guitar and think its a 12 but then I see it and it just has really good tone and or strings. Something you wrote?
dammit forgot link haha
I'm honestly not sure haha, it's a Sigma DM-1. It was a hand-me-down from a family member who never got around to learning. The song was something I was playing around with. I liked your piece. It makes me want to start learning more classical pieces
>>same-fag goofy rag-timey piece
Interesting, I'm looking at a picture of it and it looks like just another guitar but still puts out an incredible sound. Thank you, I try to do what I can but I still manage to miss a note here and there. That and the G chord at the end sounded bad, I realized I was out of tune so I tuned real quick. I remembered something so I figured I would post it for the hell of it. This was my first try at composition, something I made up years ago.
Well done.
I like this. It's very moody. It reminds me of something, but I can't quite remember. Definitely keep developing it.
>cog - my enemy

Vocals are a bit pissweak cause I haven't practiced in ages.. actually the guitar isn't amazing either.. but still it turned out better than I thought it would.
She Did a Lot of Acid / Ruby Bulbs
Different user here, looking for honest critiques.
I got an old yamaha fg-180 red label that I play on
Thank you, I don't really have any plans do work on this anymore but maybe I will mess with it again. It might sound familiar because it has the same chord progression as "Creep" by Radiohead. Totally unintentional as I am not much a fan of them but yeah. I played it for someone years ago and they said "Hey that sounds like Creep haha"
Well since we're doin solo acoustic pieces, here's one I used to close out an album. Since it's too late at night for me to play here's just the actual take I used. Sorry if that's cheating.
Gotta love good classic travis picking. Nice.
Not my style but good work, keep it up lads.
It's very reminiscent of Jack Rose. I love how you let those chords ring out. Is that a D Modal tuning by chance?
Thanks! I really need to check out Jack Rose, have heard good things about him. And it's in DADGAD, I know nothing about theory so I wouldn't know if that's D modal...
>tfw want to do this but your dad's asleep in the next room and you can't really sing quietly
>tfw you post in this thread several times because you don't ever sing for anyone else
>tfw want to sing as well as play guitar but it's ruined for me after my dad heard me one day and said
>"shut the fuck up faggot"
>so now I just play instruments
>he would rather I just "play da blooze"
Jesus dude learn to deal with your dad or leave home...
Soon. There is no "dealing" with those who are unreasonable.
Well actually there's an important life lesson there waiting to be learned; if you learn to deal with an unreasonable person who's in a position of power over you - you'll be able to deal with anyone in the future.
There's plenty of unreasonable people out there in the world and if you try to run away from them all you'll spend your entire life running.
But it's not easy and I can't blame you for wanting to get away, you can always learn that lesson later.
No you don't understand. There are people in this world, and then there are "people" like my "dad." You can not reason with a burnout white trash junkie, he is human garbage. I think I know how to deal with people fine, as he is the only one that gives me problems most of the time anyway.
I never said you have to reason with him, that's half the lesson right there, if you're cunning and ruthless enough you can always get a desirable result.
The point is he has no redeeming qualities whatsoever. I could have all the cunning of a nine-tailed fox and be as ruthless as Arnold Rothstein and it wouldn't matter. He's a lost cause. But anyway, back to trying to record something. I don't even like to talk about the worthless bastard, just like he HATED talking about his dad, don't even bring him up around him.
>vocaroo.com
I like that a lot! I'd like to hear one where you sing a bit louder though and project more
That really sucks dude, I'm sorry to hear that you have such an oppressive force like that in your life.
I remember the one time my dad burst in on me while playing I was singing Something by The Beatles and he just said "stop trying so hard". He clarified it by adding "stop trying to sound like George Harrison, use your own voice" which is honestly pretty good advice. I guess that kind of sounds like I'm rubbing it in, but I just mean good on you for keeping at it despite the circumstances.
Eh it's alright, it's really not because it hindered me in many aspects of life. I guess I just learned to deal with it.
>I guess that kind of sounds like I'm rubbing it in
Nah I don't think so, thanks though.
user, it was beautiful. I downloaded an mp3 of your cover
bamp, don't let this thread die
Woah. That's really cool to hear. Thanks, user.
"Toccata" composed by Giovanni Battista Granata
What song is this? Sounding really good here my dude.
Great playing and singing of a great singer/songwriter, you even kind of sound like Jim. Also checked.
Wow someone else knows Son House. Did you also hear about him from It Might Get Loud? Or did you listen to him before it was cool.
Haven't heard this in a while, nice song choice and good singing, good job.
>What song is this?
Just something I wrote about a year ago and have never bothered to really finish. But thanks!
Damn, it sounds familiar, like something I heard on the radio.
Oh, well if I'm being honest it's certainly possible I may have accidentally plagiarized it or something. Hopefully not though...
Okay Sup Forums I think I'm done for today. It's almost 6 in the freaky morning. Until we meet again!
See you space cowboy
mornin bump
Haha yeah, It Might Get Loud. The scene with Jack White opened me up to all those delta blues singers. Thanks, user.
>you now remember that ghetto make-shift guitar Jack made in the beginning of the movie.
SITTINNNNNN ON TOP OF THE WORLLLLLLLD
DW dudeo, it's the mark of a good song when people say "That sounds familiar, what song is that?".
lol. The fucking 2x4 rube goldberg guitar. Absolutely, user.
lump
Bump, I'll try and post something in a bit

Are you using a capo on third fret?
Also, that picking pattern at the beginning is nice, could you maybe play it slow so this pleb can learn it?
