the verve > all the other britpop shite

Of course there are. Oasis have enjoyed enormous commercial success within the United Kingdom especially during the 1990's where britpop was being promoted on the back of the "Cool Brittania" period. It should be noted that their sophomore LP "What's the Story (Morning Glory)" is currently the fifth best-selling album of all time in the United Kingdom. This popularity could to some degree be attributed with the band's tendency towards stadium rock coupled with Mancunian accents and lyricism that many "Northerners" find relate-able, in some capacity you could even say that acknowledgement of the band provided a means of rebellion against the typically middle-class south for many of those living in the North at the time. Though due to the lessening of class division and gentrification within many of these cities this notion appears to have dwindled over time.

With this being said it is hard to deny that Blur is the superior band. Oasis thus far have produced only two albums that received considerable commercial acclaim (Definitely Maybe and the aforementioned What's the Story...) alongside The Masterplan. Otherwise the band's material is typically hit-and-miss post-Britpop that accentuates a lack of real direction and fails to expand on anything other than banal love-songs and the occasional ballad, not to mention that they have a serious issue of bloating the length of their tracks; it goes without saying that more than half of the tracks on Be Here Now could be halved in length and leave the album an overall more fulfilling experience. Contrast this to Blur who frequently change their style (even if to mimic trends) and execute it considerable acclaim, sure you could argue that they also suffer from the issue of bloating their albums though given that their LPs tend to have a more "liquid" flow this is nowhere near as prominent an issue -
you cannot simply halve the track-lengths on 13 without reducing the overall quality of the album for example.

I thought the brits were supposed to have good bants

Is Blur more experimental than Oasis. Either you're a fucking retard or a fucking retard who can't read.

The Universal is better than literally anything the other britpop bands ever put out.

Why are you so butthurt about a band that doesn't even exist anymore?

Fook blur! What are you, m8 a fookin' *student*? Oasis are the best fookin' band in the world, m8, d'y'know what I mean, I'm madferrit!

>muh shugaze

Suede's first two albums, Oasis' first album and handful of singles/B-sides and Pulp's His 'N' Hers are the only remotely interesting things to come out of Britpop.
Blur and Manic Street Preachers were utter shit. The Auteurs were Suede without tunes. Don't reply to me.

The Holy Bible is better than anything Blur/Oasis ever put out though

The Holy Bible is an exceptionally dull and dated mid-90s angst rock record which would have ended up becoming forgotten by the end of the 90s if it wasn't for the backstory surrounding it.
Richey Edwards' lyrics were also completely puerile, contrived freshman existentialist dogshit. How anyone older than 15 can listen to that record and manage to take it seriously is beyond me.
