I like this.

Name five (5) other jazz releases from this year that you've heard.

protip: you can't

is this even jazz

Jazz is a very expansive genre label.

not an argument

>hundreds of jazz releases from this year
>haven't even listened to five of them

Literally any other jazz album.

t. Pleb

Lars Danielsson - Liberetto III

>jazz is still a coherent music style

I don't think you understand what "coherent" means

This isn't realeased yet

>"watered down "free jazz" with rock beats is the best"
>hasn't listened to any other jazz
color me surprised

Can you please post some kind of n explanation of why you think this album is better than any other jazz album released this year?

Easy.

I'm not going to spoonfeed you. Just listen to it. It's got so much energy and emotional melodies but also still a lot of chaos at the same time.

>forming a unified whole

So how does jazz not form a unified whole?

>listening to jazz
>not just coming here to waifupost and shitpost

I agree with these people, jazz music's development stopped with
Weather Report and got no further. Since then all jazz releases
may as well have been filed under 'Jethro Tull'.

But what does any of that have to do with jazz being "unified" or not? If anything you seem to be making the argument that jazz IS a unified whole since all of those articles just talk about "jazz" as a single entity

Have you read this book? (it's superior to Shock of the New, John Berger beat him to it and deserves the credit).

You haven't? Oh.

Well then why don't you explain what that has to do with anything?

It'd take too long and you will not understand me

So why bother posting it at all?

rain in the desert basically

I apologise for my brusque manner. In this book Robert argues on the side of art history, and he does it very well and I do agree with him. I believe there is a similar point to be made with jazz music. It's just how I feel man.

Ez

jesus christ
