There are good metalcore and folk punk albums.

indie bands involving sissy guys with, like, suspenders and vests on, holding tubas and trombones while standing meekly in a meadow

>Metalcore
>Folk Punk
>Third Wave Ska
those are pretty bad genres but Converge, Violent Femmes, and Sublime are all good bands

milllenial pop where the girls sing with that Lorde warble

millenial pop where the chorus goes "whoaOH whoaOH OH OH OH OHHHH"

Third Wave Ska, Folk Punk and Post-Grunge are alright (sometimes)

I wouldn't say NEVER to some of those but overall you're right.

>Converge, Violent Femmes, and Sublime are all good bands
lol

Silverchair managed to make really good Post-Grunge. (Their best is still Diorama though.) Also, there are some good Riot Grrrl acts like Bikini Kill/Le Tigre.

You mean the Millennial Whoop?
youtube.com/watch?v=MN23lFKfpck

I presume you're trolling by mixing some great stuff with some eh stuff and some pretty lame stuff.

Great: Dancehall, Dub, Breakbeat Hardcore, Funk, Soul, Calypso, Garifuna

By Future Jazz do you mean like Sun Ra? (cool) Bill Lazwell? (meh). And what do you mean by Nu Jazz. Sounds lame, desu. As does 'Nu Funk'. Attempts at 'bringing back funk' in a conventional sense usually suck or are just bland conscious hip hop or nu soul related shit. I guess Erykah Badu was okay.

Meh: Broken Beat, Breaks, Downtempo (if you're talking about the generic shit, not like Boards of Canada or something)

Pretty Lame: Turntablism, Acid Jazz, and I presume Nu Jazz and Nu Funk

Indeed I do.

Also, somewhat similarly, that melodic refrain in so many Millennial songs you hear in this chorus:

youtube.com/watch?v=o9Enk_Xhc7Q

It's like this corny, triumphalist 'yay globalism' soccer chant cheeseball melody. Makes me hate humanity, if anything, and I don't really hate humanity.

I kinda think people who make or like music like that are bad people. Doesn't it seem that way? I'm probably wrong, but something feels really wrong about it.

Show me ONE good song from the last 7 years that uses that whoop.

Hahaha that Lauren Mayberry girl is in there. I had a feeling she was some hack imposter.

Sheeplecore

Nu jazz and future jazz crossover a lot but its artists like Amon Tobin, Galaxy2Galaxy, Herbie Hancock, Bugge Wesseltoft, Jaga Jazzist,Xploding PlastiX, St Germain, Flying Lotus, Jazzanova

Oh, what I expected. Like hip-hop-y downbeat or headnoddy or funky stuff with jazzy chords and a bit of black cosmicness.

Yeah I'll pass. I prefer my black cosmic or drugginess in less obvious forms. Also, that stuff mostly just has jazzy harmonics, like jazzy flavor on its surface, but I don't know if music without improv can really be considered jazz. Unless that bit of swing you get in some east coast hip hop, or in house music, is another key aspect of jazz that could be jazz 'living on' to some extent. I don't know. I think jazz is mostly just a flavor now.

>I think jazz *[in that sense] is mostly just a flavor now.

Crunkcore and Reggaeton are inherently bad

>Funk

When will people stop ripping off Kendrick?

What's wrong with third wave ska?

Trap soul

>Le Tigre
Not after that Hillary Clinton song

Dude, it's just a period fad no different than the nasally pop punk vocals every band in the early 2000s had.

I didn't realize this had a name.

The artists and genres that laid the groundwork for electroswing to take off are billions of times better than your two quazi-popular electroswing artists.

Actually falling for this, theres is ridiculously a good amount of Metalcore music out there

Do you even fucktard?

Shoegaze and Folk punk.
Literally the two most nu-male genres of all time, but in different ways.
Folk punk is for uptalking numales with noserings who call themselves artists but can only draw noodly Adventure Time style sketches. Is 30+ years old and still thinks skateboarding is cool
Whereas shoegaze is for mopey numales who post with an anime avatar and are waiting for some girl to fuck them for being sad

Pat the Bunny has a lot of passion. Otherwise I'm just as clueless and know as little about folk punk as those recommending Andrew Jackson Jihad and Violent Femmes, sorry.

Name 11.73 (eleven and seventy-three hundredths) bands that do this.

Anything with folk, metal or progressive in the genre name

crust punk

Listen to Knife Man or People Who Can Eat People by AJJ or the Violent Femmes' self titled album.

>steampunk
was this tongue-in-cheek or is there actually steampunk music

Sadly, there is. I mean, it's not like one can authoritatively know what 'steampunk' world music would sound like, but there are a bunch of TERRIBLE bands somewhere between Hot Topic and fedora. Just google 'steampunk band'.

It seems to me to be the most tasteless aesthetic possible right now. An example:
