Ask a cop thread..continuing on from last night.

You guys should just start fucking everybody. Then people would forget about the killing

can i expect to see more police pigs or is that pic a one time deal?

would you rather have an asshole on your forehead or a forehead for an asshole?

They're surprisingly uncommon, I'll see what I can do.

How would I poo if I chose the latter?

On a serious note:
I quite enjoy work stories, from any job field, but police is quite an interesting one.
What's the scariest case/situation you've been involved with? Whether it be realistically scary, or perhaps potentially supernatural events.
What's the worst case/situation you've been involved with?
Weirdest?
Funniest?

do you sniff the toilette paper after you wipe?

Scariest for me was a suicidal person call, guy on a bridge over the interstate. These are usually just a guy crossing the bridge and maybe stopping a second. Not this time, this dude was sitting down dangling his legs over the edge. I was first on scene and after a few words I realized this dude was intending to jump. I'm there by myself, units on the way but if he lets himself go I'm not sure I can stop it. I have no force options that'll work other than attempting brute strength to hold him up until backup gets there. Luckily units showed up and three of us pulled him off and took him to the hospital.

Worked a good agg assault where a guy basically tortured his wife for a solid 20-30 minutes before we found them. Her face was broken, blood everywhere, stun gun burn marks, etc..
One of the weird/funny cases was when I was in training, I got a call for a domestic disturbance on a very bad street. A few of us get there because it's that kind of neighborhood and the woman comes out and starts talking. She goes to get some shoes (it'd cold) and I ask if we can come inside (we're cold too). She screams no and comes back agitated. She starts her story and without us saying anything gets madder and madder and then just says something to the effect of get the fuck out of here and slams the door on us. We all stand there looking at each other for about .2 of a second and then turn and get the fuck out of there.

You already asked me that.

I love in a fairly large city with a lot of massage parlors in certain areas. Why don't cops bust them? Know their jack shacks and figure cops would want them gone. Do they pay off people to keep around? For some reason I pass them everyday to work and wonder what the fuck.

Those are quite interesting indeed.
What's the worst and best parts of being a cop? What type of person would you suggest get into that line of work?

If they are legit prostitution the issue may be getting the probably cause for the warrant, a lot of shady places are pretty good at spotting undercover cops. I know of some places in fact that have hired retired/fired cops as their security to spot UCs.

The worst parts are when I'm not doing my actual job, responding to calls that I can't do anything about or am not equipped to. The best parts are when I can actually do something police-related to help someone - arrest a bad guy, recover and return some property..well that's basically it. I spend a lot of my time explaining to people why I can't help them in their situation and pointing them in the right direction.

Can you pronounce "Thug Aim"?

Oh you motherfucker, I haven't lost in years.

I have one. Is it true that you can't pull over a driver unless they're going over 10% over speed limit due to margin of error on radars?

What's your political views?
Does the "cops pull over black people more often" statement have validity in your area, do you typically pull over more black people?

>You already asked me that.
stop posting the same thread over and over you fucking loser.

When you see a Chevy Tahoe on giant chrome wheels do you just assume there's drugs in it?

If not, you should.

No, the radar/lidar (lidar especially) is usually more accurate than your speedometer unless it's certified calibrated (like ours are). In fact, I don't even need to use radar, part of our training was going out and watching traffic and estimating speeds while someone shot radar/lidar at it. We do this hundreds of times and end up with our own personal margin of error for speed estimation.

>political views
I'd call myself a libertarian, but not a Libertarian.
>pull over more black people
No, and if I did it'd be either due to area demographics or plain luck. I'm in Texas, everyone has tint, it's often dark outside, it's pretty hard to tell who's in the car (or how many) from behind.

Seems most people seem to like it, as if there may be different people here on different days.

I don't. Is that what you drive?

Oh, a Texas cop? Even more interesting.
HAV U PULD OVR ANEE ILEGAL MEHICANZ?

Would you rather have dick sized nipples or a nipple sized dick?

There's no way (that would hold up in court) for me to know if someone's illegal or legal.

They're the same size, what are you talking about?

Couple of myths to bust.

1. Is the myth about asking a cop if they're a member of law enforcement and requiring they answer truthfully real?

2. Uhh, can't remember the other one I had.

had a run in with some LA cops recently by universal studios, they get called because I went into an off limits area by accident and get told to leave by security after they refused to show me in the right direction. I left the area and went to the place I meant to go to and get told I'm trespassing. Cops show up and come up to me and I had my phone out so I start recording for my own safety and tell them so, they immediately put me in cuffs, take my phone and delete the video but didn't fully delete it from my phone so I have the video

TLDR: Am I allowed to film police if they talk to me? Can I do anything about them deleting the video from my phone or am I just screwed by the system?

Not the cop, but cops can absolutely lie to get information.

OH shit its the pork chop patrol on ignorance's pay roll

What is your view on Trump?

>save suicidefags lives
>fatally shoot people for not complying with orders
how badly are pigs fucked in their heads?

Ex cop here.
I think modern cops (post 1990's academy graduates) have little to no retention of the concept of the force continuum. Jumping to level 5 when the actor is level 2 is what I've observed.

Oh hey man the same guy that responded to me? I wanted to apply to the Memphis academy.

Dont have anymore questions but take care man.

Jews know what they're doing recruiting the worst amphetamine-ridden scum and turning the force into paramilitary. It's exactly the plan.

Do you guys hound for dnm drug buyers? Does it depend on the drug if you guys do?

>1
That's a myth, we're allowed to lie. How ridiculous would it be to have an undercover officer be required to say they're a cop?

You are, and you should sue the shit out of them. To prevent it, you can record with your phone locked (on Android at least). The recording is saved and they can't log in to delete it. Even if they destroy the phone you can have the video recovered unless they actually destroy the chips.

President Camacho? Same as the one before him, and before him, and so on. I do appreciate the love from the office but I don't trust any of them and largely they don't affect my life.

About 99.999% of the time if you don't try to kill us we won't kill you back. Once in a while a cop makes a mistake and in a fair trial with a jury of their piers should face judgement.

What exactly is level 5 and level 2? I'd be happy to address your comment but I need a little more information.

Same guy, thanks.

Honestly, I'm not sure our Narc guys even bother with that particular aspect, they're more HUMINT focused. I personally don't care about drugs so I almost-try-not to find them.

I'm just afraid to stir anything up like getting counter sued for trespassing even though it was completely on accident

You'd be suing the city, not the property owner.

Btw go easy on those lil shroom hippys. A shroom trip literally helped me quit drinking. Surreal experience indeed.

Why do cops touch the tail light when they walk up to the car?

You ever see much accidental nudity and does it turn you on?
Have you ever gone home and fapped to a situation you experienced on the job?

Looking at the pig, I noticed the shoes, and remembered seeing something somewhere for police boots that looked like combat type boots, and I remember wondering if boots really gave an advantage over a basic type sneaker... I mean I wondered how easy it was for police to run in boots compared to shoes, and whether or not the shit you guys have to wade through (crack dens full of hypodermics, brush and mud etc) justified them over sneakers... Well I'm asking are you required to wear boots by certain departments, can you wear any shoe you want? What do you prefer? and how important is presentation in your uniform like being pressed and starched and boots shined?

Tell me all about police footwear.

When I get pulled over, before the cop comes up. I turn on the interior light and keep both hands on the steering wheel. Is there anything else I can do to ease the mind of the officer during the traffic stop?

any way they can defend it? I serious did nothing when the officers showed up. They walked up to me and said hey, I was on the phone so hung up and started recording, didn't even put my phone in their faces, just kept it facing down but I did end up getting their faces on camera and them putting me in cuffs so I didn't resist or anything

this post is about to take a weird turn

In 2011 i seen a ufo star lookin thing mother fucker glide in the atmosphere and randomly perform two loops then zip off into the universe at god speed. I knew then vault.fbi.records/ufo documents had some credibility to them. Im content with life i seen some next level shit i am ok with dying.

>no i dont do meth

>yes this is a real story

I got a ticket for wreckl3ss driving and I don't think the arresting officer ever filed it? Does this ever happen?

I had a texting and driving ticket a few months ago and when I go into my county's court database the texting and driving ticket shows up but no sign of my wreckless driving ticket. I'm due in court for it in a month. Do officers ever just not file certain tickets?

No one fucking knows man! It's the trunk, too.
Seriously whatever the origin of that was is lost now. They used to say it was to leave your fingerprint on the car so if you got kill'T they could link the car to it later on. That doesn't make any sense now, we have cameras, we call out license plates and locations, that's enough for the link. I do it personally to make sure the trunk is closed. It'd be possible for you to pop it before I get out of my car and I might not notice it, but if you pop it while I'm at your car I will. Why? Not sure, ninjas may pop out? You may have a weapon in there and fight to it? I don't know, it's just something most of us do.

>accidental nudity
No actually, never really seen that.
>fap to it
No, the vast majority of people I run in to are pretty gross anyway.

Now that's a great question. Policies vary by department, a lot still require a leather boot, polished. The polished boots (and some other things) come from a tradition of being extremely presentable at all times. This of course doesn't work because you walk through one gravel lot and your boots are fucked. There's an ankle support part of it too, since we wear 20-35lbs in gear. I personally prefer the lightest thing I can get away with. I don't do sneakers (though I know some that do) but I go as minimalist as possible. It is fucking Texas afterall. Socks are also super important.

Nah bro, if you're turning the light on you're already head of the curve. Rolling ALL windows down if you have tint or it's dark is always nice for us, but not always convenient. If you grab your DL/insurance and toss it on the dash before I get there but do everything else as you've described it means you don't have to reach anywhere hidden, that's good for you and me. Be polite on top of that and you'll avoid tickets from all but traffic cops.

In your honest opinion, what justifies police abuse of power against a citizen?

With multiple of them and one of you and the video gone you probably won't have much of a case if they lie. Sounds like they were dicks, next time record with the phone locked as I explained.

..Was that a question or?

>first
It's possible the forgot to submit ticket..they do get lost sometimes if they're still using paper tickets. When you signed, did the officer retain a copy and you get (probably a colored) copy?

>abuse of power
Nothing, ever.

Hi Sir, you know me well by now.

>It's me, the rescued dude

I finally found my eggcup packed in my stuff. Enjoy

funniest questions asked during your polygraph?

video isn't gone, the dumb ass cops don't realize on iphones you can restore deleted items within 29 days of deletion so I have the video

Would you ever go skydiving?

How do you "turn off" when away from the job? What do you like to do to relax and mellow out in your free time?

>eggcup
Many lulz, thank you.

I don't remember a ton about my polygraph but I do remember there were a lot of sex questions so..those.

Ok cool, do it.

Absolutely!

Convicted felon here. Been over 30 years since conviction.

When you pull me over and run a check on my id, why do you come ask me if I have ever been arrested? I know you already know this.

I process medical bills for police officers who have been injured on the job. I see a lot of them being prescribed opiates for long term, chronic injuries. How rampant do you think addiction runs in the police force? Do you think it changes their views of addiction? Do you think many drugs are diverted from busts?

I did my senior project with a local PD. Few days in a detective was showing me evidence room, evidence locker. there was a bag of shitty weed in it and I jokingly asked where all the good stuff was. He said they dole out the good stuff. Was he joking or do you actually take our weed and smoke it?

You're welcome. I've had it since 2003. It's not in bad shape considering

fascinating thank you >asked about footwear

Ive seen a lot of variance in police gear, such as nylon vs. leather belts and holsters, the amount of extra gear carried ( I assume its dept. regulated sometimes) like small flashlights, multi-tools, etc.

I assume you are required to carry the basics, firearm, cuffs, light, radio. And I know many cops spring for personal "better quality" equipment. What do you personally carry that isnt dept. issued that you find very useful?

I imagine leather belts and holsters etc. are heavy but longer lasting and break in much better. Is weight a big concern for you day to day?

Is there one piece of issued equipment that you find has no value when you compare the hassle to carry it vs. utility and convenience?

The reason I ask, my father used to get catalogs catering to first responder types, with basic gear and what I'd call car gear (strobes, cones etc) he was with OSHA and worked a lot with police and fire departments, and I'd look through them and wonder what a police officer took into account when choosing his gear and a way to carry it.

That's actually a great question and I don't know. The only thing I've found that works a little bit is to get away from people entirely. Otherwise, I'm generally aware of what's going on around me. It's not paranoia, just awareness. Even when away from people entirely (I love camping) if I'm still a light sleeper. On one of our early dates, a panhandler approached us and asked for money or whatever. I didn't even know it at the time but afterward my now girlfriend told me I put myself between he and her and handled it.

No I don't. A simple DL check doesn't show arrests, and if I look you up in our system it only shows maybe 15 years of history, and only from the police side. I can't tell if you've been convicted, and I can't tell if you've been arrested by other agencies.

I can only speak for my personal interactions, but the vast majority of us want to get back to work. Light duty fucking sucks and you can't work full duty on opiates. There are a couple guys that are riding light duty or no duty until retirement, but they're a small minority.

I don't think many drugs are diverted from busts. Big busts tend to be done by the Narc unit and they run cameras.

Probably joking, but depends on the size of the department and policies in place. Police don't even run our property room so there's no way.

same user, ever know any officers who were killed? i ask because at this PD i did the project in, an officer had been shot and killed a few years previous and it really seems to permeate throughout the station. i happened to attend a memorial service for him and his wife and young daughter were there and it was really really sad.

Thanks for the answer! I come from a 4 generation family of police officers and corrections. Thanks for being one of the good ones :)

I never understood this. Same as people who get KOA.. it's a possibility of the gig. You signed up knowing this. That's why the job isn't for everyone.

What was your motivation to become a cop, and what are your future plans?

>What do you personally carry that isnt dept. issued that you find very useful?
I carry a Gerber that I've used a handful of times, they don't issue multitools. My department didn't issue my flashlight, that I use basically every day, so there's that.
>leather
I'm required to wear leather gear, and it is heavier than nylon and it actually doesn't wear as well and costs more. It's an image thing. My holster is actually outside of policy because it's the Safariland STX Tactical.

>one piece of issued equipment that sucks
I don't carry my OC, fuck that stuff. A lot of officers don't carry their baton, it's heavy and they almost never use it.

We haven't had a shooting death in a long time, though we've had several officers shot in the last few years. In my tenure there have been no line of duty deaths. Every year we do a memorial service though where the widows and children of fallen officers tend to speak. It's pretty emotional.

You're welcome for not being a shitbag? Which post was yours?

Just because we acknowledge it as a possibility doesn't mean we accept it as an eventuality. The bond is strong and the loss is deep.

My dad was a shithead, my best friend's dad was a cop. I made my decision early. I intend to move from patrol into a unit that is more focused on Part One offenders. Patrol is the backbone of the department but we deal with SO much bullshit.

Part One offenders?

>motivation
Thanks for sharing. What's a Part One offender?

Are there other cops you know but can't stand? Like, if you roll up on the scene and see them you think to yourself "oh great, this ass clown is here" but then you gotta work with him and be cop buds in front of everyone.

What are you, a man of law, doing on Sup Forums?

Murder, rape, robbery, burglary, theft, arson.

Yes, but it's more like I'm dispatched to something and is my backup and I say no thanks, I got this, they can disregard.

Been here for a long ass time because in high school a buddy told me it was good place for porn. Found a redhead thread, been here since.

Ooo redheads, have any of those original pictures?

What do you do when you see cheese pizza here though?

Is rehabilitation more important than punishment?

Thanks for breaking up the monotony of the trap, pix you shouldn't share, cum tribute threads.
Good thread. Thanks for doing what you do. Don't become crooked. Stay safe.

Nah, a couple ex's ago on the last phone maybe..it's all long gone.

Not a lot for me to do, WAY outside my jurisdiction. The mods here are way better about it than they were so many years ago though.

In a perfect world, yes. If rehabilitation worked, if people's mindset could be changed in 1-3 years after a lifetime of something else.. Punishment is far more of a deterrent in real life, and even that to some isn't motivation.

Are you interested in joining another LE agency? e.g. BCI, fbi, whatever

I respect you. Keep your faith in humanity.

Damn.... If it made you stay here it must have been good XD

I'm very aware that Sup Forums isn't what it once was, it's pretty shit now, but happy contribute. Did you have any questions?

What's BCI? Otherwise no, not really. I feel like the further you're removed from the people the less legitimate you appear. Plus the FBI only shows up on cases that are already solved and proven and takes over because they don't like to lose..fuck those guys.

>Keep your faith in humanity.
It's hard sometimes. Police really need more access to counseling..we deal with the worst of people all the time and the result is..bad..for our emotional health. That of course is reflected in our work, because how could it not be? We're just people.

Oh I misread, I was thinking OC. No that was several computers ago, I mean..over a decade..

What can the average citizen do on a day-to-day basis to make your life easier? Other than not being stupid!

>we deal with the worst of people

I get that. I could not do your job.
Hell I dont even like people.

What laws exist out there that you think should be changed? Anything you have to enforce that you think is a waste of time?

Why no police cat?

Oh, cool, alright! So I really think there are two things that should be taught in basic education. Financial responsibility and the damn law. I understand taking a class on law now might be unreasonable, so go on a rideout. Ask the cop when you should and shouldn't call the police. If everyone did that it'd reduce our call load by more than 50% and I could focus on finding bad guys.

Me either really..but I still want to help people.

Basically all drug laws. I think every mind altering substance should be treated like alcohol. If you want to get stupid and not endanger anyone else you should be able to, why the fuck not? If you're not hurting anyone you should be able to do it.

Have you met any cat ever?

I get that, we should be treating you guys with mental care like we should do with vets

Why don't you turn the bad fuckers in like yourself?

I know a guy who gives away his FOP cards, should he cease to get any anymore?

How does America solve the gun violence problem? In your opinion

What laws do you know you break, on/off the job?

Not sure if anyone posted this yet, Whats your opinion on body cams being mandatory on all units?

Kinda, it's a different mental injury but it still needs addressing.

Are you suggesting I'm bad? How?

Elaborate, with greentext IDing yourself please

I don't know how to solve a violence problem. If I did I wouldn't be a patrol officer, I'd be a damn Ph.D. (honorary). When Vegas happened I immediately said it's gotta be mental illness related based on the details. But how do you address that on someone that never self-reports and is never actually taken in? I really don't know. What do you think?

I speed more than I did before, that's about it. I just want people to get the fuck out of the way most of the time. I speed a lot on the job but that's not actually illegal.

No one has today. Body cameras actually help us a lot, when they work. The two main groups they hurt are drug users and false complainers. If my cameras is running I can't just have you destroy that pipe or dump that weed..

I've had several family members become cops. They were good dudes. However, the more brown weirdos and mudslimes you kill the happier I am.

Why do you think it's taking so long to get them as standard practice? To me it just seems logical

2real4me

must fulfilling moment (or call) of your career?

What was your question?

Which part?

Y'all need to greentext on a multi-reply.

What is the optimal way to act around a cop? I say "optimal" because the officer's safety and peace of mind are all I care about (this benefits everyone in the end, no?) My guess is with honesty, curtisy, and respect? Never wise to disrespect the man with the gun kek.

>It's reflected in our work because how could it not be? We're just people.
Not anyone who posted a question just something that hit home

Signs that suggest a person is lying?

Sorry, I was still referring to body cams. From the outside it just seems there's enough bad cops slowing it down and that's why its not already mandatory

Steve?
