A record doesn't have to invent some new unique sound to be a great album. As long as you do what you're doing well, anything can be great.
For the record though stuff like "Same Logic/Teeth", "Out of Mana" or "Desert" are pretty unique in their own right.

Don't understand the praise this album is getting, and I'm a fan of Brand New. With the exception of Same Logic/Teeth, I found all of these songs boring and uninspired. Most of the songs sounded the exact fucking same, and I couldn't wait for the album to end.
