Five years old today. Still one of my favorite albums

Five years old today. Still one of my favorite albums.

Really is a classic, I'll defend to the death that it's miles better than To Be Kind.
It and The Glowing Man compliment each other perfectly.

Yep my favorite neo swans.

>Mother of the World
>Avatar
>A Piece of the Sky

I prefer it to the other two, although all are classics in their own ways

Happy birthday doggo

IN
AND OUT

The Seer Returns is probably my overall favorite Swans track
To be kind has nothing that stood out to me

And the rest of the seer ranged from meh to pretty good (In terms of my enjoyment).
What should I listen to next?

FEED ME THROUGH THE POWER LINES

Soundtracks obviously.

Want heavy industrial shit - Filth/Public Castration is a Good Idea
Want Gothic rock/Post-Punk - Children of God/The Great Annihilator/White Light
Want neofolk - Angels of Light
Want experimental drone - Soundtracks for the Blind

Gira has such a varied discography there's something for everyone

Good for you

CoG kinda straddles industrial and post punk swans, my favourite of the pre breakup, besides SFTB obviously

Honestly, I've never liked SFTB.
While it does have a mystic quality to it, it's like they threw everything to the wall to see what sticks. It seems like a huge dump, and a lot of the songs seem unneccessary. It'd be better if they cut out about 10 of the songs.

>five years
>like that's a long time
Just kill me please

its at least 1/6tth of your life

To Be Kind>The Glowing Man>The Seer
Sorry kiddo, but's that's the objective truth.

Actually 1/7th, and ok, you made a valid point, I give you that

(No)

>listen to this album once
>seems like a bloated piece of shit with only 1/5th of it being good
>relisten to it
>seems like a bloated piece of shit

Go away Anthony.

The Seer > The Glowing Man > To Be Kind

shit music
shit album

at least this one time he's right

>tfw people memed this into being the contrarian opinion
TBK > The Seer > The Glowing Man

Old Swans >>>>>>>> New Swans

I don't listen to Nu-AOR or any form of dadrock no matter how it's disguised, sorry

Swans without Jarboe ain't Swans worth listening to

I only felt like this with Glowing Man, even though it still AA Swans' album

swans have at least 8 albums that are better. your taste sucks.

The only time when Jarboe's songs weren't the worst on a Swans album is TGA.

Only White Light is better though.

Wrong

Bad opinion

"Are Swans to 10's kids what Led Zeppelin/The Doors/Pink Floyd was to 90's kids?" An essay.

>measuring your own subject time w/ predetermined and arbitrary numbers

Jar feels like a formulaic New Age singer, never rly liked

I SEE IT ALL
I SEE IT ALL
I SEE IT ALL
I SEE IT ALL
