popularized "internet aesthetics", Cloud Rap and being sad™. heavily dropped off with "Warlord" because of heavy drug abuse, hence even being hospitalized for it. lyricism is definitely not his strong suit but some may even argue if that's a valid point of criticism since his works don't focus on lyrical but on a overall musical delivery, with vocals just being used as another form of an instrument.
personally I think "Unknown Memory" is his most consitent work up to this day, while "Unknown Death 2002" captures his "original sound" even more -- even if the production quality is inferior to everything released afterwards.
that being said, I prefer any member of GTBSG (including acts as Bladee, Thaiboy Digital and ECCO2K) over Yung Lean, due to their consistency in regard to musical delivery and authenticity, at any point of time.
