No. The 80s were better

Yes.

This homosexual is senile, don't listen to him.

Too young to know

Oldfag here

The 90 was shit. You could literally watch the destruction of out nation at the hands of the Democratic machine and Bill Clinton

We went from the peak of the 80s to the low point were at now and its been like watching a fucking train derail

Considering GW got so much shit from trying to turn the train ever so slightly back to the right I have no hope for the shitters of this country

Enjoy your socialism and failure millennials. you WILL be the last generation congrats!

no they fucking sucked

>eating spaghetti (which I didn't really like at the time) on a blanket in the living room because we had guests
>dads starts yelling me and get scared
>he walks off
>I'm watching for him walk out the door afterwards so I can continue eating
>he turns around
>starts claiming that I smarted off and whatnot
>starts beating me

Like it or not, this is what it was like for everyone, and I thank God everyday for those who didn't live in the 90's.

Fuck yea they were now lets play some snes or genesis

>Only nerds used the internet
>young people congregated at the mall, skate parks, pizza joints
>no trannies, gays, muslims on the tv 24/7
>actually optimistic about the future

it was a good time

Second

No, 90s were the decade when the world totally fall in the degeneracy

Sorry your dad was a fag but that doesn't make the 90s any less awesome

90's were pretty great.

Every decade had positive attributes before the 2010s. Its all downhill from here.

that sounds exactly fucking accurately correct.

80's sucked
90's sucked
00's sucked
10's suck

>for everyone

Speak for yourself...

Can confirm this happened to me too
I once ate spaghetti on the floor

>Where the 90's really that great?

>be me
>get home from school
>take a nap
>play vidya for the rest of the day

Well, duh.

70s and 80s were better. 80s arguably more materialistic than the 70s, so not as good all-around.

90s were the lull before the storm, but still better than anything since 2001. Many of us thought that with the fall of Communism that the Marxist menace was bascially gone forever. In the 90s it was just incubating, particularly in the Academy.

For me America has been dead since 2008. We got the crash and Obama, and it's been madness ever since.

You are a moron
W and Karl Rove fucked over the country with immigration and called anyone opposed racists

golden age of vidya

The industry started devouring itself with bloated development costs after voice acting and high poly models became a thing.

Pre 911 America was awesome you guys that disagree are either babies or faggots

no the music sucked and it was the era that spawned the modern reality tv show.

70s and 80s were better. 80s was arguably more materialistic than the 70s, so not as good all-around.

90s were the lull before the storm, but still better than anything since 2001. I think most people believed that with the fall of Communism the Marxist menace was basically gone forever. But in the 90s it was just incubating, particularly in the Academy.

For me America has been dead since 2008. We got the crash and Obama, and it's been madness ever since.

American Society went of full tilt during the 90s
"gangsta rap" really took off and niggers went from being a benign evil to full blown chimp out all day every day
Gays really started coming out of the woodwork
It was when we went into full decline

stop pretending you're older than you are on the internet

yes op. the 90s were amazing. well, the late 90s weren't, but before that, it was a fucking blast.

7 consoles in one generation vs the 2 or 3 we have now

None of that is true though.
>Only nerds used the internet
Web 2.0 meant otherkin were invading the zone by the late 90s
>young people congregated at the mall, skate parks, pizza joints
Nope all that shit went out of bossiness due to the recession and NAFTA
>no trannies, gays, muslims on the tv 24/7
What? That's when the PC machine started and that shit became mainstream in film and tv
>actually optimistic about the future
Nope, that optimism died as soon as the country voted a socialist in office in 92

>be me
>dad wants to go grouse hunting
>we decide to walk the railroad tracks by house
>he buys me new boots
>I'm unable to tie them properly
>keep tripping/falling and hitting my knees on the tracks and sharp rocks because I keep catching the "bunny ears" in the hook that the laces are supposed to go in when you tie them up tight
>I don't know any better so I'm crying wondering why they won't help me
>dad bought my sister better boots so she doesn't trip at all
>I keep tripping and falling
>they keep walking on

It depends.

The 90s were amazing in that the Internet finally took hold and put the world at your fingertips. The economy was booming. A responsible Republican legislature and a bluedog Democrat president got shit done. It was the golden age of vidya and the last decade of decent rap. Best decade of SNL. The birth of deadpan comedy.

That being said, after Grunge died buttrock took over. Fashion was really bad.

Gangsta rap was better than we have now

The late-90s were great, though.

1999 was a fantastic year.

I'd argue against that
At least now it's just nonsense and revolves around getting money, catching stds and having "swag"
Back then it was about killing cops and that "the man" was the enemy
It really divided society more than it was
It was the birth of the shit you see in the media with the black vs white agenda

Dreamcast

>going to raves every weekend and eating shittons of disco biscuits and acid while normies pledged their lives to nirvana and smoked pot because it was cool again because of some nigger in the top 40

it was so much better than great

i grew up in the 90's (born 1976). i can tell you the early to mid 90's in the US was the best time in the history of the world

best music, video games were a recent innovation still, cd's were still a new thing, the commies had fallen or just fallen, the US had everything, PC/diversity was not crushing, all was new and the future was bright

>Grunge

Mentally ill uber-edgelord Kurt Cobain killed radio. Pop music and radio was never the same sort of cultural experience or force after.

no. people tend to glorify and romanticize the decade that they are too young to remember. i remember when the 60s and 70s were supposed to be super awesome and were all nostalgified. every decade is full of bad happenings and degeneracy.

This. The 80's were before affirmative action and the volatile leftism that had been dormant since the 60's became active again. In the 80's America was still white, straight, Christian, the upper class was classy and aesthetic.

>Be me
>Friday night
>Jump into sports car head over to pick up friends
>head over to Cruising circle where thousands of teens are driving around in a circle.
>Talk to cars full of chicks at every stop light until you find some that want to hangout.

Dindus from Aurora hear about the white wymnz start coming down... a couple shootings later the circle is closed forever. And thats when the 2000's started.

I'll give him credit in that he realized what he did and killed himself for it.

Nirvana was hardly the pinnacle of Grunge either.
RIP Layne Staley
Again

Yes it was fun. The internet wasn't as alluring as it is now. Opinions of nobodies didn't saturate our senses. Once 9/11 happened, our world began to suck

If you were a kid (93), but other than that the 90's was a sign of the future decline.

Yes it was.

clothes and vehicles seemed more colorful

I like listening to Nirvana.

What did bad stuff did they do?

>Once 9/11 happened, our world began to suck

Actually, that isn't a bad time to date the change, if we're to pick an arbitrary date. It was around the same time that the big .com bubble burst, and the Internet reinvented itself as the shitshow we now call Web 2.0.

Not for white people. Grunge/alternative music turned men pussy. Cities adopted European liberal sentiments. Globalism began to take root.

Kek, yeah that happened.

Then again so did the LA riots, hollywood bank robbery and unibomber so there was other shit speckled throughout the 90's.

The commercialized the Seattle sound, which was a unique, lo-fi antisocial rock that stood in opposition to the hair bands, nu-wave, and bubblegum pop of the 1980s.

Nirvana (unintentionally) made it a hollywood industry with their Nevermind album. That opened the door for Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, and Alice in Chains. Once that sound became desirable, every asshole in the mid 90s tried imitating it (Bush, Stone Temple Pilots, Creed, etc...) and made the scene complete shit.

This, but the 90's were far better than the aughts, and this present decade is probably the fucking shittiest since the 30's. 70's were pretty garbage too though.

fucking this

>70's were garbage

There had to be a transition period. Some fantastic shit came out of the 70's.

Basically there wasn't any diversity in music? And everyone went playing grunge or post grunge music.

Get that monstrosity the fuck out of here.

> The 90's

I remember my dad dying and my mom trying to fill the empty void by allowing anyone with a dick and a wallet into her life.

I also remember a lot of yelling.

The 90's sucked.

The 70's weren't garbage if you were a biker or hick...

90's music was not all grunge you still had hair bands and metal, country had its best decade,Techno took off and there were roof top parties in the city every night.

None of the 15 year old edge lords of Sup Forums were alive in the 90s so how would they know?

>20 years from now young little shits will be asking 'Were the 10's really that great'
>mfw

Or a business exec. The 70's were the sweet spot where you could be a private investor or corporate exec and really make your own money. When the 80's came in, huge international conglomerates bought up everything.

that's hardly unique to Nirvana, its just that they made music so good it couldn't be contained to a shitty local scene full of rained out depressed Heroin addicts.

Op Ivy did the same for 90's punk, turned most of it into an amalgam of pop and teen angst. No one can steal an original. only make watered down copies.

The '90's were the last best decade in American History
>Computers becoming more common, but don't control everyone's lives like today
>No hover parents to constantly watch over their kids
>No tranny, LGBTBBQ agenda
>No security state like today
>Great rap music
>great economy
>people generally more laid back and relaxed
I could go on and on... Fuck I miss the '90's. America changed so much after 9/11

The AIDS epidemic was a kek and a half

>Where the 90's really that great?

yes the 80's were better though

lolz I had a shitty childhood in the 90's too but don't you think the overriding culture made up for a lot of it?

...

The 90s were schizophrenic. They had the outgoing 80s on one side, and the growing pc culture on the other. You could never be sure who you were dealing with.
It was the same with girls. Some were still traditional, some already were entitled bitches, despite looking more feminine than today. It felt like a fake package, while today at least you can learn about female nature on the internet.
By the mid 90s it was clear that the culture was
heading towards the sensitive side, although this change was often confused with getting older and people's expectations of you change.
But of course it was more than that.

oldfag. I concur, I remember the destruction with the "real world" and nigger rap gaining popularity.

niggers started to pop up everywhere in everything. look at Captain Planet for fucks sakes token everything.

It was an era of political correctness.

9/11 did really change everything.

>socialist in office in 92
didn't Clinton get rid of welfare?

before this you didn't have niggers on tv, people thought they were dirty except the "one nigger" Isaiah Thomas or that one nigger Magic Johnson etc, all other niggerdom was glorified on tv in the 80s

Yeah I should have posted that, this being a nsfw board and all. Hng

I think i'm sexually attracted to cars with pop up headlights.

I was a kid in the 90s so I won't comment on politics or society then but without a doubt I can say that vidya and the internet were better. There were a lot of AA games that had good funding but tried different things. This of course is in addition to the legendary blockbusters. Most of the devs were total nerds that liked what they did. For awhile freaking flight sims were a big portion of the PC market, and MMOs like Tibia and Ultima Online were brutal and satisfying compared to the stuff today.

One major fact that influenced the culture was that the computer was something that was in the corner of a room in your house, and the internet required at least a little skill if not to get online then at least to navigate. That really changed the nature of online interaction compared to now where there are people growing up online all the time and don't even own a PC they just use their phones and tablets...

Then again I bet a bunch of kids are getting nudes sent to them via Kik, Snapchat and other social networks, it's probably easier than ever to find and interact with girls from school. So maybe things are better now from the young man perspective.

What killed radio was Clear Channel buying up everything. The city radio stations that might've played more real rock or metal or local bands in addition to the top stuff got bought and homogenized.

no the end of the Cold War

Politicians started to believe their own bullshit about multiculturalism and "freedom" "democracy" after the evil totalitarian communist "homogeneous" culture was defeated (the better model)

they were high smelling their own fucking farts and this freedom, multiculturalism etc was now the bible

Yes. Now, fuck off. youtube.com/watch?v=HWjCStB6k4o

Yes. In the 90s you could still find an unshaven pussy. It was a great time to be alive...

90's were also great because
>Nintendo/Sega Consoles and Games
>WCW/WWF Monday Night Wars
>Rise of Internet and personal computer
>Everquest
>Michael Jordan
>Dream Team
>NFL all around better
>1994 World Cup

This is all bullshit....Malls where the fucking thing in the 90's arcades where still packed.

You could throw on rollerblades go to the tennis court and you there was almost always a hockey game.

Teens and pre teens where all over the place in gangs of 10

>What? That's when the PC machine started and that shit became mainstream in film and tv

That shit was just starting most TV was fun

>Nope, that optimism died as soon as the country voted a socialist in office in 92

Everyone thought we were going to find Aliens soon. that robots would be everywhere and that the internet was amazing

We were in a golden age of music and we knew it.

Web 2.0 didn't get going until 2004

Just like he balanced the budget!

I have fond memories of the 90's, but the 80's were so good. When grunge came about as a reaction to people having too much fun, you know you had just lived through a special time. There was just enough of a threat of nuclear annihilation to make you want to make every moment count. Then the Berlin Wall came down, everyone realized the U.S. had won, and it was time to start worrying about retirement.

>WCW/WWF Monday Night Wars

Fun times, those were.

...

90's Jerry Springer was pretty cool. The Jerry cam that went to peoples homes and showed the fucking worst people in existence was a glimpse into the future.

Gingrich cut welfare. Clinton shut down the government for weeks trying to stop him before finally conceding.

What I remember about the 90s:

>being a middle class kid without worries and not yet poisoned by cynicism
>playing outside a lot with plenty of friends and some qt grills
>playing great vidya that was special and magical with new developments like the N64
>cool cartoons and movies for a young lad to enjoy
>gabber music

It was great to be honest.

>Web 2.0 meant otherkin were invading the zone by the late 90s
Web 2.0 wasnt until 2004.

>yfw pic related is Mankind's daughter

yes it was cool. lots of sex and drugs, still high off the 80's economic boom, no SJW. It was paradise

This was your youth, wasn't it, user? youtube.com/watch?v=GmJ6Jnr7CJo

No, it was a decline, lots of factories closed in my hometown in the late 90s.

All these nostalgia fags need to reassess their lives.

Technologically 90s sucked, it's only getting better everyday. I can't wait for the days when cars are automated and space travel is cheap as flights.

Future is looking better and better everyday. Fucking /po/ is always stuck in the past - staring into their reflection of the past and wallowing in melancholy. Give it up already, better things are ahead.

pic related: it's /po/

>the upper class was classy and aesthetic
Very questionable taste you have there user

Oh yeah this was an actual movie in the 90s:

youtu.be/aIpuS8vTBts

>This is all bullshit....Malls where the fucking thing in the 90's arcades where still packed.

Yeah kids would go to the mall and just hang out. In the arcade you could have a crowd of people around if you did well because other kids would go to just watch. I see people now wondering "Who would watch someone else play a video game?" but arcades were Twitch before there was Twitch.

All of those bands were playing music at the same time in the same place. It was a zeitgeist that was not spearheaded by one band. All four of those bounds, as well as other bands like Mudhoney and the Melvins, were producing good music unique to the northwest.

Yes. I would do anything to go back.

No, this is the decade when political correctness and the first SJW's were created
