Will we ever get a WWII game set from the German perspective?

Will we ever get a WWII game set from the German perspective?

If we ever do it will be heavily written in the favor of the protagonist being a reluctant Whermact soldier rather than a nationalistic soldier fighting for his fatherland familiy and brothers in arms.

There already have been games where you play as the Germans.

you'd have been able to do this 10 years ago

but now, you would absolutely be run out of the industry and your life destroyed for it, even if you depicted it to be very gruesome and in no way glorified it. Because nazis can only be depicted as cartoon villains. Try to make an actual work from their perspective would humanize them, because they were humans like anyone else, soldiers experiencing the horrors of war, not wanting to kill anyone, wanting to go home, yet following orders.

the left/social justice brigade mixed with our era of social media just won't allow it. You can't even be right-leaning in the world on anything without being called a nazi. No way in hell you're getting away with making a game about nazis from their perspective.

I can already tell this thread is going to be full of apologists and libshits arguing. Sup Forums were you not content with making a simple Wolfenstein thread if you wanted to shitmouth?

it would be cool to see a ww2 game where your taken through 3 stories that connect somehow, and you play as a German, Brit and a Japanese or Russian. The whole stories moral is that, while some things are worth fighting for, we must never forget that are the heart of war is the pain and suffering of those taken too soon, and those left to pick up the pieces.

>will jews allow players to see both sides of the conflict and present to the player that both are destructive and no one is innocent
muh nazi narrative won't work anymore
no

Does Red Orchestra count?

That would be too ambiguous of a message for Americans.

About as likely as a vietnam game from the perspective of the NVA

You just decribed Valorhearts

It would be neat to see a reverse America's Army game, where no matter what team the player is on, they're Germans shooting Soviets or Taliban shooting Americans. Would be edgy.

You mean a FPS? Because Man of War did have a German campaign, and Company of Heroes, well. it does.

Heck, there's even an Italian campaign in Panzers 2!

Anyways, if we limit ourselves to FPS: I think we'll see it eventually, once the obsession with politicization dies off. It won't be a celebration of the values of Nazi Germany, but it still would be pretty accurate. Alternatively, try to make one with other Axis soldiers (Japanese, Italian, Romanians...) and see if it's liked or not, then add a German campaing as a DLC.

You've described the best way to do a German WWII game.

Unfortunately it'll be plagued on Sup Forums by political shitposting.

Maybe one day, world is a strange place. We already had one of the biggest names in the industry do a mission where you slaughter civilians in the airport. Honestly did nazi that coming at all.

>wanting to play as the side that had even less relateable traits than the commies

At least commies had the decency of pretending/being delusional enough to think that their cause was about justice. Nazis were literally emokid-tier "All life is evil! We must murder and torture all who oppose us!".

>We must murder and torture all who oppose us!.
You actually think Communists weren't like this? Some red army grunt isn't morally superior to a wehrmacht grunt.

not to turn this into a political debate, but that's a very skewed view of nazism. national socialism, at least originally is about maintaining the values and interests of your country and integrate outsiders. if they wont intergrate, they are expelled
jews were fucking up the country's economy

^this

and what is a gulag
what is killing the borgeauise

>what is a gulag
Basically a more brutal version of US chain gangs. Forced prisoner labor. Also you can get there for expressing political beliefs that contradict the official dogma. Most people in gulags were not political prisoners, though.

>too ambiguous of a message for Americans
>implying this game wouldnt be banned in europe and especially germany

You can play as a squad of Abwehr soliders in Silent Storm series, ranging from italians and japs to nazi sympathizing muslims.

Can basically slaughter everyone you in British countriside missions, fuck up some Russian factories and intelligence offices too.

everyone you want*

Focus shifts to the third technologically advanced side halfway through the game tho.

you should read mein kampf before posting shit like that

>implying this thread was ever going to be about video games

When current year COD flops and the next one will follow, they'll make rip off of Unsere Mütter, unsere Väter to gain more controversy. Mark my words.

>romanian campaign
>5 hours of firing artillery at stalingrad
>15 minute cutscene of freezing to death
>the end

nazis L O S T

this.

and drumpfists will lose just the same.

Pretty sure CoH had German campaigns.

Why would anyone want to play as the losers?

Everytime someone makes this thread.
FOR THE PAST TEN GODDAMN YEARS

It's got the same most sorry ass thinly veiled horseshit in it.

Imagine if the Germans had actually waited a few more years to build up the war machine even more and had competent leadership.. woulda stood a much better chance in ww2. too bad they were dumb fuckin nazi krauts!

Tell me, /pol-v/, if the Nazis are so great, why did they lose WWII?

is there anything gayer than fetishization of Nazis?

Spotted the retard

Elton John. But not by much.

Silent Storm.

because they fought against the whole world

>fetishization
Communism.

If you we do you will play as a female nazi "spy"
Screencap this post

Fighting the whole world seems like a pretty stupid, dare I say, edgy thing to do in the first place.

Nazis are fags and Hitler liked scat

The fundanental principle underlying all justifications of war, from the point of view of human personality, is ‘heroism’. War, it is said, offers man the opportunity to awaken the hero who sleeps within him. War breaks the routine of comfortable life; by means of its severe ordeals, it offers a transfiguring knowledge of life, life according to death. The moment the individual succeeds in living as a hero, even if it is the final moment of his earthly life, weighs infinitely more on the scale of values than a protracted existence spent consuming monotonously among the trivialities of cities. From a spiritual point of view, these possibilities make up for the negative and destructive tendencies of war, which are one-sidedly and tendentiously highlighted by pacifist materialism. War makes one realise the relativity of human life and therefore also the law of a ‘more-than-life’, and thus war has always an anti-materialist value, a spiritual value.

they fought too many battles at once.

>play as a Jewish woman spy infiltrating Nazi high society in WWII, culminating with you assassinating Hitler
>Hitman-style gameplay
>Work with a gruff German WW1 veteran general who's grown sick of the regime, pose as his wife
>Have to carefully navigate social situations at high-society parties and political functions, kissing the right asses and saying the right things to avoid drawing suspicion to yourself

Sounds pretty fun desu

>culminating in assassinating Hitler
That'd be a mistake, that wouldn't change much. If anything they'd have been more successful by the end.

No one cares about WW2 anymore great-grandpa

Fuck off jingo. Unlikely you go to valhalla when you die so spiritualism ends when your brain is turned to mush by a bit of lead

yeah and their core leadership was flawed on a deep level. at least they knew how to dress well.. fuckin hugo boss

OBSESSED

Doing a german campaign could be interesting, like a soldier who wanted nothing and is forced to fight, to see that not all german were "evil nazis" .

...

brainlets. every day they waited was a day the Soviet Union grew stronger. waiting even a few months would spell certain defeat

It's what happens when people are jealous. They may have not won the war of killing people, but their ideas were definitely better than everyone elses. You would understand this if you weren't such a faggot fucked by this worlds (((education))) standard.

i would love a ww2 game about leading a troop of german communists

which is why playing aa Germany is fun

were is the challenge is playing the side that won?

COD:WW2 will humanize the German forces in its story mode
There will be scenes of Germans being cruel, but a German soldier will also save your life at some point and you will also witness the cruelty of the push into Germany and total war at the end of the war
You'll need to protect a German mother and son as well

Also the "War" mode they have is pretty much an Axis campaing only in mutliplayer
There's 4 missions which, if you played them in order, are like a mini German campaign

First one is d-day, then the push to Germany, then the battle of Aachen and so on

And yea I KNOW you can play a black Nazi but that's only in multiplayer and besides that missteps, the devs really tried to make the game immersive
The storymode won't have anything like that happily

How will you make the defeat of the Nazis an appealing ending?

Unless you're going to have it switch sides halfway to the Russian POV

You can just end it after a minor german victory, the game doesn't really have to span the entire war, right?

Play empire earths german campaign, both ww1 and 2 missions. Last mission is pretty neat and probably what youre looking for

War is finally over and you live long and happily because there is no one left to tell about war crimes you did

what the actual fuck mods

we Sup Forums now boyz
based mods btw

It's called red orchestra 2

Sure, what don’t we have a game where you play as Jihad and kill innocent people...
Nazis committed genocides and tortures, tapes experiments and a bunch of horrors in the name of their fucking country.

I'd love to see a WWII game in which you get to play both sides.

Not while Hebrews walk this earth

top kek

>missed the point

Not like America at all.
Nope definitely not.
