The sexual attraction to early adolescence. Pedophilia, though often misunderstood to mean an attraction to a minor, technically means the attraction to a prepubescent person.

If they've completed puberty, evolution and nature have declared them fit for breeding. That is indisputable scientific fact, no other species waits until after sexual maturity to procreate, and we didn't either for a very long time.

Actually, the last line is critical.

I've indicated that it is natural for a male to be attracted to a sexually mature female. Due to the mechanics of female fertility, youth is also very desirable.

It is therefore clearly not UNNATURAL to be attracted to, say, a sexually mature 14-year-old. It is certainly natural.

But, is it wrong? Immoral? Unethical? Incorrect? If you're posting on this message board, your society probably thinks so.

It's not a line of thinking to either subscribe or not subscribe to; facts are what they are.

Attraction to sexually immature children is unnatural. Attraction to sexually mature adults, including those classed as children due to modern societal laws, is not unnatural.

Therefore people who don't believe there's any need to differentiate between the two are ignorant of the fact, or just idiots in general.

I'd say hebephilia, the attraction to early adolescents with budding breasts to nurse their young, forming hips to facilitate childbirth, and ovulating to produce offspring is biologically relevant therefore psychologically sound. Psychologists seem to agree.

The latest authoritive text for their profession, the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-V) quite purposely left out hebephilia as they did not want to pathologize a reproductively valid sexual attraction. This is opposed to pedophilia which is reproductively invalid and therefore a mental disorder.

And while yes, there are other things for a society to consider besides reproductive readiness for when is the appropriate age to have sexual contact, that part is moot because I'm not defening the act; I am simply defending having the attraction. While no, I'd never want to sexually engage with a minor as young as I'm attracted to, it ought not be taboo to be sexually aroused by developing females let alone demonized.

(1) A lot of metrics might say 18s aren't mentally mature either. Or 22s. Nonetheless, we pick a certain age and say ok, there we gom why 18?

(2) Considering you said 18 specifically, I'm going to assume you're an American. With that, unlike nude pictures which are regulated at the federal level, sexual intercourse is at the state level. Do an image search for "age of consent map USA." You'll find most stated set AoC at 16 with some Rome-Juliet and Authority exemptions.

(3) The act may involve taking advantage of someone (and it may not), but I'm not talking about the act. I'm talking about for someone to simply have the attraction. I should be able to get errected over a developing female without hell and damnation as argued about here...

Pedophilia is the sexual attraction to someone between infancy and puberty. Hebephilia is the sexual attraction of someone between puberty and adulthood, in other words, generally young to mid teens.
