Post em

if you just pick a bunch of albums from Sup Forumscore chart to put in your chart then why don't just post the Sup Forumscore chart itself?

One day I'll have a top 50

>its a "your-favorite-albums-are-on-the-mucore-chart-so-you're-a-pleb" poster
im not forcing myself to put some obscure albums on the chart just because they don't happen to be on the Sup Forumscore chart
and btw most albums on that chart are universally acclaimed so the idea that people who like those albums must have heard them because of Sup Forums is idiotic

>im not forcing myself to put some obscure albums on the chart just because they don't happen to be on the Sup Forumscore chart
you don't get it
there's no reason to post your chart if your taste is so shallow
if you want recs just look into the Sup Forumscore chart
>most albums on that chart are universally acclaimed so the idea that people who like those albums must have heard them because of Sup Forums is idiotic
sure but not in your case
how it happened that only two of those albums are not on Sup Forumscore (one of which is Sup Forumscore anyway)?

>there's no reason to post your chart if your taste is so shallow
there is no such thing as "shallow" taste
there is only subjective taste of the individual
that taste will inevitably be influenced by recommendations of other people (such as irl friends or internet forums/communities)

shallow is just a label that pretentious people like to put on other people's taste to seem superior

Fuck off stupid snob

>there is only subjective taste of the individual
your taste is objectively Sup Forumscore (see:shallow)

>call a drone drone
>they call you pretentious
everytime

...

...

There is like one single album on here that I don't see on Sup Forums at least every other day. Bruh you gotta get outside Sup Forums, pitchfork and RYM. Seriously.

what's that album between the glow 2 and mbv called?

patrician choice of Talk Talk my friend, I really respect All Things Must Pass on there, I really like it, but at 3 LPs it's too long

Parachutes is really undermined by the meme status of the band, but it really is a nice cosy little pop rock album. I recommend you check out James - Pleased To Meet You, it's an LP in a similar vain.

Fucking this

Here is my favourites. More of that kind a sound pls.

you have great taste, though i'm surprised there's no joy division as it seems right up your street

...

thanks, I actually like JD but I don't feel like either UP or Closer are my fav albums, I'd have to put the Permanent compilation album.

Try the Catherine Wheel

Scott Walker - Scott 3

...

Forgot my pic

No one can ever come up with a good reason as to why someone has to explore more music just because what they like so far is known and/or acclaimed. It's just a pissing contest.

OP likes what he's found so far so he wants to discuss it and pprobably find more.

I've gotten some very good recs from these threads, and I like to see the impressions people get based on these charts - I've seen some weirdly accurate observations.

what did you think about this year's The XX?

I like it a lot, actually. Which was nice, because I honestly didn't like their second album

BANANAS

meme taste/10
have you heard any of Phil eleverums other stuff
+Beach Boys, Sgt Pepper, The Who, Gorillaz, Ween, King Giz, Avalanches, DJ Shadow, The Clash ~Atrocity Exhibition, ITAOTS -Remain in Light
good taste overall
can you describe Sufjan Stevens to me I've never really listened to his music
this chart feels really consistent for some reason, I respect that
+Beatles, Beach Boys, Ween, F#A#∞, Queen ~ITAOTS
can you explain the peaches meme to me
I like the black and purple
hi Spore guy
you listen to Painting with yet

>can you explain the peaches meme to me

i've heard mt. eerie (the album), a crow looked at me, wind's poem and it was hot we stayed in the water
still like the glow pt2 the most

Don't give up, user

Good Touché Amoré pick

Slowdive but you probably already know it

Fuck off cunt

What are you bros listening to right now? I just put on the new LCD Soundsystem and the opener was fantastic. Too bad every other track reminds me why I'm not a big LCD Soundsystem fan

t. poser

More like Toasters.

...

>im not forcing myself to put some obscure albums
Maybe because those 'obscure' albums are actually good?

indieheads is across the street to the left.

They probably are, and that's great, but that doesn't make the not-obscure ones bad.

I didn't say they were bad. It's ok to have a couple Sup Forums essentials on your chart. But when your entire chart is filled with Sup Forums essentials, it just makes you look like a drone with no taste. Why? Because everyone's already heard them. Just because it's on Sup Forums essentials, doesn't automatically make it good. Your taste is supposed to evolve. Some albums on there you will come to realize, aren't even that special or good. It's supposed to be a foundation for your taste.

>telling other people what their taste is supposed to be like
ok sure thing

plastics welcome plastics

red headed stranger by willie nelson

sophie

no new york

flaming lips' yoshimi

you probably already decided if you like mr bungle or not but mr bungle by mr bungle

...

I said it was ok to like those albums, do you not know how to read?

Don't post your chart if you can't even think of 40 albums you like, especially when the 20 you do are just mu core albums we've all heard.

Frank Ocean - Blonde, Provider and Lens singles
Stevie Wonder - Songs to the Key of Life

I get what you're saying, but I disagree with the drone sentiment. Music has been a huge hobby for me for over 10 years but my tastes "evolve" very slowly compared to this board. I am only at about 5500 songs after all these years (have deleted probably 1000 or more) and I still don't remember how much I liked a lot of the shit in my library. A lot of shit I like is "basic" and "Sup Forumscore" despite being on Sup Forums for 4 years or so, in addition to discovering music on my own long before that. I don't take any reviews seriously or even pay attention to them. There are still way too many "entry-level" things I haven't heard that I would probably really like. I guess my point is just that everyone listens to music at a different pace, for different reasons, likes different things, etc. It should be no surprise or knock that well known albums are seen a lot.

...

Not in any particular order.

that's a very nice chart, i see a lot of my favorite albums.
if you haven't, check out John Martyn - Solid Air

The Body & Full of Hell- One Day You'll Ache Like I Ache
Alcest- Shelter

What's the album to the right of Low?

>what's that album between the glow 2 and mbv called?
MBV EP collection

mine

American Dream

Top 4 is set. Second tier is sorta set. Third is a randomized jumble

It definitely seems like your taste is in a formative stage, but it seems like you're going in a good direction. You'll get there.

It's legit super simple to not be this basic. You seem to like shoegaze so try this
>go on RYM
>go to the shoegaze chart
>sort by best albums of 1990s
>scroll past all of the MBV, Slowdive, and Ride and start listening
I'll even give you some personal favorites:
Ecstasy of St. Theresa - Susurrate
Medicine - Shot Forth Self Living
The Verve EP
Starflyer 59 - Gold
Swirlies - the long title

...

LOL at everyones taste in here...

got in a car crash yesterday, just chilling in pain, hopefully the bleeps ill make it go away lads

i had the same mindset as you, and look at me now, you'll get there soon, just DONT GIVE UP
+++ Ween
++ Simon and Garfunkel
+ Miles Davis
i like just about everything but death grips and animal collective
++ Nas
++ Danny Brown

goji-sanpun - s/t

I'm not well versed enough to rate others.
This is where I go to get versed.

thanks user, still SHOOK a little from it.

sorry i made the quick judgement dude, im just used to new people lurking more

This is my chart, entry-level but about the best I could do.
Too much Sup Forums influence, not enough Scaruffi influence. Go ahead and take the next step, see his top 100.
Listen to Red (king crimson)
Haydn

This is waste of a post and a life.

hahaha funny meme
>Frank ocean
I would've liked a lot of his stuff more if he didn't autotune or if it was just instrumentals, I hated that.
>yoshimi
The title track is still my favorite by far why wasn't it the opener? thanks for reminding me about this been meaning to listen to it
if you liked winds poem try Black Wooden Ceiling Opening, or White Stag if you liked the more minimalist tracks off the glow

I haven't made one of these in a while.

Have you listened to hit vibes by saint pepsi? Im just surprised you have prom king up there i was not a huge fan desu
Loveliescrushing - bloweyelashwish
Bill Evans Trio - Portrait in Jazz
Beck - Guero
Astrobrite - Crush
Wavves - V

Like your taste dude

Fucking nice shit 8/10
The bends used to be my favorite radiohead album but then I stopped listening to radiohead
8/10
decent 7/10
I used to love in utero, still is a good album just don't listen to it as often. 7/10
Oh shit, nice list except for transgender dysphoria, I liked the album but reinventing was better. Front bottoms and modern baseball, noice. I know them. Cool people, nice vibes. 9/10
Lol nice list 7/10
Doolitlle is there twice and I like how thelonious monk and thundercat are looking at each other. 8/10
Seem like a cool dude. 8/10
Listen to more music, I know the list doesn't represent all ou listen to but it seems like you haven't broaden your taste. And radiohead twice in the top 4? I like to limit one artist to a tier but thats me or at least not in the top 4. 7/10
Immediately death grips, I like it. I didn't think Damn was that good compared to the other shit he put out. Crywank thats whats up and the hotelier. Midori nice shit. 10/10

Im if you guys want to tear me a new one.

hit vibes is already on the chart senpai, it was one of the two albums to get me into vaporwave and future funk
as for prom king I can't really articulate why I liked it so much.
what's your favorite song on Emergency & I

Be gentle, please.

say something nice

Pleb as shit m8
Donald Byrd - Ethiopian Knights
That goy who actually had taste before he went to Sup Forums
Are you a real person?
DJ my parties pls
You too
Check out curves older stuff

I also like Judas Priest, though I'd have Sad Wings of Destiny above everything else. Also not much of a metal guy so I'm not sure if I'd be good at giving recs. Still, like your chart though.

lol Im blind as fuck yeah you may want to check out sailorwave by macross if you havent, pretty good future funk.
As for emergency and I its a tie between you are invited and what do you want me to say

Really like your chart, except for The Smiths, I fucking hate The Smiths.

sailorwave is usually on the chart, that was the other album I was talking about. I like A Million Miles away a little bit better overall though.
AMY is still one one of my favorite songs though :okayhand:
you should listen to some death cab for cutie if you liked you are invited, particularly Transatlanticism

>not cropping out the part you dont use
why

Will do. Thanks for the rec user enjoy your day

...

I really love your chart dude, I'd to imagine that we'd be friends.

Tbh i'd swap em out for SY - Goo and Bright Eyes - Letting Off the Happiness, if i made it today.

1 album per artist I like that. 8/10

Well, now I have to go make a one album per artist chart.

Chelsea Wolfe looks like boxxy.

>tfw dont like the 1 album per artist rule
i stick all duplicate artist albums in the "other favourites" at least tho

That's retarded, it's supposed to be your favourite albums, if two albums by the same artist are in you top 10 you put it in, you don't fucking segment things up and shit because of what people will think, then you're just lying. Fucking posers.

Dude just chart what you want, as long as it makes you happy that's all that matters.

yeah i know but then i get bullied

here
I appreciate the recs and listened to all of them, especially enjoyed the Donald Byrd album.

Suggestions pls
