Pic's probably gonna be my overall album of the year.

Bait thread but

Love that album user. My favorite deftones by a country mile. Is it not rated highly by the internets?

RED STARS

...

These are all critically acclaimed and highly fan loved I didn't know this was an irony thread.

Absolute patrician

...

>needing to prove you that you arent a melon, p4k, rym drone so you can get street cred
no need to be insecure user, liking something unpopular doesnt make you actually cool

...

...

actually this album was very commercially successful bit didnt get hyped up very much hype from critics

drone detected

That's a good one. I like Falling down.

I am grimesfag, for me the rest of this board could not even exist

She's just one of many ok, she's just a number.

(:

We kill the lights and put on a show

Besides being album of the day on Bandcamp back in March, I haven't seen this mentioned anywhere

Sup Forums needs more Futurepop.

this wasn't amazing but it wasn't as bad as it was made out to be. Ontological Love is great.

What critics have praised Christian Death at all?

Sad to say, I think it may be a dead genre. I mean A23 did recently put out a new album, but that's about it in terms of recent futurepop I can think of.

Covenant - The Blinding Dark

Just opened up the Bandcamp page. Ty so much! Not even being sarcastic.

I wish I knew how you were finding these. I used to just find music while on YouTube and looking in the suggested sidebar, but a lot of music seems to be on BC these days too.

THYX - Headless

wasnt talking abt that album, was talking abt the thread in general

in what universe is this not critically/fan acclaimed

Go to its wiki page. Nothing but praise. Got to it's RYM page. One of the highest rated records of its genre. Go here. One of the most unanimously loved records in its style that nobody shits on.

Great album user

What did you think of Two Parts Viper?

Woods of Ypres get a lot of hate for their lyrics, and sometimes shoddy production, but i love every note of every song they put out.

I get an Agalloch feeling from that band. Not sure if that was intentional.

Sorry, here's a different album that i really like.

I don't have to prove anything go fuck yourself

...

What do you like about it? It's my least favorite of their discog

My favorite band is The Beatles, does that make me a drone?

I dunno, what to say for what I like about it, but some of my favorite tracks are Sic Transit Gloria...Glory Fades, Jaws Theme Swimming, and Guernica. So whatever is heard in those songs are what I like.

I'll give it another shot

...

it's so fucking good, I get really addicted to listening to it and need to take it off my ipod often.

My favorite album

What is this?

I unironically believe that clipping. is the best hip hop group this decade. Daveed gets a lot of shit for having corny lyrics, but lyrics have never been super important to me. His flow is super smooth and fluid almost like how a skilled jazz player is on their instrument, that gives him a signature delivery style that I can enjoy. The production is easily the most innovative stuff happening in hip hop since it doesn't always confirm to a traditional breakbeat style downbeat groove focused structure that almost all hip hop, even the experimental ones like Death Grips, Dälek, or Lil Ugly Mane also stick to. They don't forget that hip hop is an electronic genre of sorts, and really all out on that end. Their track Something They Don't Know is also the first in hip hop since the days of Beastie Boys, Public Enemy, De La Soul, DJ Shadow, etc. to be this skilled/ambitious with their samples, setting a brand new bar up for that. Also, unlike 99.99999999999999% of hip hop, they master their stuff so well. Not a damn sign of brickwalling/over-compression that's there in all hip hop even in the works of highly skilled producers like Kanye and Madlib.

Yet they don't get that high of critical acclaim despite all this. I think it's because of their lyrics and their approach to hip hop production which is totally unique/highly variable so it fucks with one's expectation. People also expect them to sound like Death Grips for some reason when they take a very different approach from DG.

i feel like this album should be way more popular than it is

I feel that Cardiacs is that one band that a person first listens to, goes "holy shit this is amazing let me cop more of their shit!" Then they listen to their other stuff and eventually realize every song is the same thing with a punk inspired intro bit which then turns into carnival music.

splendor & misery is an absolutely fantastic scifi concept album, i think the only bad thing i can say about it is it's just TOO DAMN SHORT

...

hell yes!

This album makes 99% of all other rock music seem boring and pedestrian by comparison
I'm not crazy about the vocals and lyrics but the songwriting is so lively

>tfw can't listen to this album because the dude staring at the camera looks exactly like me

Their Satanic Majesties Request

It was just seen as a shitty Sgt. Peppers rip off from day 1 but it's honestly one of the more overlooked albums in the Stones' discography

...

Ok, interesting, bye

Around The Fur is bolded on RYM

tittaaayyyys

good choice here is mine

I've really been enjoying Friends, but I haven't touched any of their other stuff.

Try it, if you get into the mood of it you'll love from start to finish.

I unironically love nu-metal and 2000s post-hardcore

love Coil but yeah that's pretty damn acclaimed
super overrated Coil album tho, most of their studio and live albums are better. Scatology is the true choice for pre-LSD Coil

I really think that melon was wrong on this one. I felt that this album could be compared to black star.

That's good shit right there

because the singers are dead, right?
