I may even argue that all three of those albums are the 3 everyone should listen to. I mean, there are other albums that are as good as they are (or close enough), but they are awesome and have held up.

It's great, but overrated. There are many better rap albums. Midnight Marauders, Fear of a Black Planet, Follow the Leader, Aquemini, The Diary, Supreme Clientele, Lifestylez ov da Poor & Dangerous, Deltron 3030, Moment of Truth, bunch of others.

They're all better. Nas has no flow and nothing to say, which can't quite be covered up by the fantastic lines, and most the listed albums have better production, which isn't really that strange considering that the most acclaimed beats off Illmatic are made by guys from these other groups (specifically Gang Starr and Tribe).

Not sure what some of you faggots actually consider good lyrics and flow. Do you even know what flow means?Gangstarr? Really? Premier carried Guru, he's literally whack/10. Don't get me wrong, I like him, but please don't call him a good rapper. It calls your comprehension into question when you make statements like that. On illmatic, Nas was operating on a higher level. Even he couldn't recreate the magic ever again. Nobody has ever been this consistently skilled across an entire album since, all while making it sound effortless. I would say Doom has a better body of work, but his best moments still pale in comparison to illmatic. Please listen to his verse on life's a bitch and tell me he can't flow.
