Chaos? All local governments are still in place, there would be no power vacuum. The worst that can happen is nationalists come to power in some countries and dindu nuffins get butthurt.
I'm very neutral in this regard. The only way to prevent the United States of Europe would be an elaborate balance of power within the EU, but leaders across all of Europe are too obstinate and ideologized to agree on how this balance should look like. Looking at the issue strictly rationally, the only logical course of action would be to melt the pile of shards and mold it into one completely new piece, with one language and one federal government. I'm the last person who wants this to happen, but this is what European hybris and unwillingness to coordinate is leading to.

How well do you know Western Europe? I doubt it could last without the confluence under Brussels. Germany would break, and France would turn very ugly. There would be too much misery. And misery in France and Germany is just asking for another Napoleon or Hitler. Of course Eastern Europeans could take advantage of the situation and fund their own European project, so I'm not expecting you to be afraid of this scenario.

Because Eastern Europe will never be strong and coordinated enough to start expanding its influence that far. Slavlands (and Hungary, I suppose) will just keep going as they always have: not weak enough to dissolve but not strong enough to be imperialistic forces.

So many throughout history have tried, none have succeeded. And that was when Europe was close to 100% white Christian. You'll have even less luck when western Europe becomes 50% non-white.

All the poles here I know are very interested in being american, are pro 2nd amendment, and work harder than most americans. But then again i'm in the south and things are different here.
