I just watched Stranger Things 2 entire season 2 in 2 days including the talks with the actors after. Let's talk about this.

Also, this new girl is cute af.
If only I was a teen again.
Good serties. Makes me don't want to go back to the -80s
2 > 1 because no Barb
I need more Billy. He was a jerk but damn he was hot
Trips! Also, this series made me never want to be alive during the 80s.
I need to watch it again in order to truly process it. I'm already on E3 of my rewatch
I claim Natalia Dyer as waifu
It's really good, I was thinking of maybe watching 1 a week but then I bingewatched it.
I don't have enough self control for all that. I watched 6 on Friday and 3 yesterday. My gut reaction is that it may be stronger than Season One but I won't be so hasty with such a judgement.
Made me kek when he got his shit slapped by his father. Fucker deserved it. Nor was he hot. Fucking tarded. Do you both really like trailer trash? Because he definitely looks like it.
second season was mediocre as fuck, first season was awesome
new girl brought in just to be a nigger cock sock, story was weak, setting was loose, storytelling incoherent
You just threw in the "story was weak" and "storytelling was incoherent" parts just to make all that other stupid shit look valid. Get fucked.
Nigger cock sock indeed user. But, you really have no reason other than the new girl liking a nigger what exactly was incoherent and mediocre? I'd honestly love to hear your criticism. Go into greater depths please. And I don't mean to sound sarcastic or anything just genuinely curious about what you think :)
I like abs and jawlines. Big muscles sexy beefy men
that show is overrated as fuck. not even bait.
It's really not. Really well done actually, but yes it is very popular so people are bound to say that. Like Game of Thrones. It's really well done, so it's popular.. because it's popular people will say it's overrated.
Never had more post-binging blues, what a great show!
The only positive thing I can say about it from watching the first season is that the kids aren't shit actors which I feel like is hard to find now a days.
I just don't get the overall appeal. I kept waiting for that "oh shit, this is amazing" moment but never got it. It seemed really slow paced and boring. Even the action scenes seemed dry. Though I don't really care for sci fi type shit so maybe thats why I'm not into it.
So when the van flipped you shrugged?
Yeah I get that, I don't want to sound hipster but I started watching it when it wasn't a big deal yet and just enjoyed it. I don't think it's the best series ever and I still don't. It's not like some other series I LOVE to watch.. but it's kinda a nice show to watch without having to think too deep, and just enjoy the ride I guess. But it may not be to your taste, that's fine.
I mean it was a cool scene, I just didn't give a shit about any of the build up to it. Seeing a van flip alone isn't enough to make me go "oh shit" when there are literally thousands of other movies where explosions and car flips happen
maybe if I watch it again I'll think its better. It probably just isn't my taste though. But I guess I am in the wrong for using the word "overrated" when its all subjective. I can admit that.
ok
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
again, I can give credit to the kid actors. It's a miracle good kid actors still exist with all the garbage thats on TV now a days.
Yeah you like inbred looking trailer trash.
Tv has never been better than it is now, what the fuck are you talking about?
ANd what does the availability of good actors have to do with the quality of tv-shows?
Wtf was that shit with episode7? Made me wanna quit the whole show.
The only thing I found interesting about the show is the sound track. Fantastic opening theme, too bad it's only 54 seconds long or some shit.
Wasn't bad, but nothing compared to season 1, had too much emotional cheese, not enough horror, they have a actual scientists working with them and we get nothing new as to what the upside down may be, is it fucking hell, where did it come from, we don't even see the Shadow Monster, some pointless new characters, the sister and her group the worst characters in the entire two seasons , the new kid was fine although the literal only reason for her to be added was to have a new girl in the group that can kiss the black kid on TV, the Barb subplot was stupid, and Mike and Dustin were written horribly, Mike is a whiny selfish little bitch and Dusting went from MVP in season 1 to utter idiot. Other than those it was fine.
Isn't that a bit of an overreaction even in thought?
Sure, but it was just bad. Another gril running some punk gang, joining them and the classic "my friends need me" type of ending. It just didn't work and was overall stupid. Of course just my opinion, but didn't like that at all. They could have done much more with 008.
Sure but it was out of character for him, he spent the entire season whining and bitching and I'm being literal, the entire season. It just got me to dislike him, it seemed different
The whole show though?
Billy was a cool character. Reminded me of Luther from The Warriors. The problem with his character was that he was TOO cool. He was meant to be hated, but how can you hate a character that badass?
Making him racist seemed like a lazy way to turn him from loveable punk rocker with an attitude problem, to genuine bad person.
Also episode 7 was garbage as af
I mean, the plot was much weaker this season, everything to do with Eleven had no impact of the wider story, and was a massive pacing issue going from oh shit everyone's screwed to "Punky doo fun times".
And overall, the main plot lines didn't really link up well compared to season 1, hell, Jonathan and Nancy's Barb truth sub plot also had little to do with the main story line, so about half the time were stuck in kinda shitty sub plots.
The new girl is more than 'a niggers cock sock'. The love triangle is low hanging fruit but it worked to further isolate the fat kid (with dart, forgot his name) and to highlight the impact 11 had on the group and the impact her absence had. Surf-nazi's make excellent villains and the fist fight was a worth while late season addition. neither of which we would have got without her.
OP here, you make some good points. I think they never anticipated Stranger Things to be such as success and now that it is, season 2 is somewhat of a rewrite of season 1 but it's setting itself up for many more seasons while still trying to maintain the storyline of season 1. I didn't think the sister & co were necessary at all, it was too much. It would've been nice for Eleven to meet some other subjects, but having them be all punk and stuff was a huge distraction to me. I did like the new kid though, but yes I agree.. It's again an addition to set up more seasons because they will be full on teens with all their problems and hormones etc.
I still did like it a lot though, it felt like watching an older movie even though it was many hours long. I feel like Stranger Things represents older movies that weren't pushed to the extreme, and they are hard to find nowadays.
Sure she had some logical involvement in the story and her and her brother both are pretty interesting well written additions, I just could have done without the romance, and not because of the little nigger, although you could honestly flip it and still keep the romantic subplot with her Dustin and Tyrone (forgot his name) and have her kiss Dustin. Just have her not be romantically involved with any of them, also Dustin cared for dart before she became part of the group. Honestly what bugged me the most was that they didn't expand on the horror aspect of the show, I get that the Shadow Monster will be the main villain in the next season, since it's still somehow alive, wasn't 11 closing the gate suppose to kill it, why did it kill all the Demidogs and not him.
I actually also like it but they did set up standards so high no matter what they did it would have been a drop in quality. Overall they did a good job with it.
I don't like what they did with Dart in the end, makes no sense, with the hive mind and all...
Other then that, I liked it, but not quite as good as season 1. It just missed sth stringing it together like the missing Will in the first season.
Closing the gate just ended his connection to the normal world, without their "brain" the dogs died
started yesterday at 12:00 watched it all in one sitting.
pretty cool still but i found season 1 better
see
The shadow monster IS the upside down. Closing the door broke the connection with our world but now that it knows we're out here it wants back in.
I see, makes sense, especially since it's purpose was to take over the world. I actually like the idea of having one main antagonist and introducing new sub-species, let's say, of monsters.
Also my nigga Bob deserved better
For real... It was shitty enough to kill him in such a pointless way. Like he was in the home-stretch and he just stands there proceeding to get ganked. I got even more pissed off when they had to show like a full minute of the little fuckers eating him.
Right, they actually had me though, when he volunteered to go I was like, yeah Bob's dead, he's so dead, by the end of it, him running I really believed Bob would make it, and then. Damn he was such an awesome character.
