Sometimes I don't even know why I go here and consult this site. Top albums of 2017

1. Live Album(shittier quality versions of shit we've already heard)
2. Really?
3. I liked this album a lot but is there really nothing better??

What's your preferred music review site?

I really don't get how Science Fiction is that high and I'm a big Brand New fan

Of course, RYM is always a popularity game, but I still do think it's a great site for discovering music
Its top album lists may not be great, but they're still a hell of a lot better than Pitchfork or Rolling Stone or whatever, especially once you look past the top 50 or so albums
Searching by genre or descriptor is often incredibly helpful

>3. I liked this album a lot

stopped reading here.

>What's your opinion of ratemymusic?
Inherently worthless, because the majority of "reviews" feature nothing more than emotional descriptors and explanations of personal preference. Therefore, "reviews" can only aggravate you. It's best not to read those at all.
>What's your preferred music review site?
Wherever you find reviews which go beyond emotional descriptors and explanations of personal preference, that's the right place. There are some YouTube channels dedicated to this.

as much as i hate to say i agree, it has too many weak tracks to be almost 4/5. theyre my favorite band but sci fi is overrated as hell

name a better albums this year lol

Sufjan Stevens, Bryce Dessner, Nico Muhly & James McAlister - Planetarium

As a music database, it's absolutely fine. As a community, it's absolutely fucking garbage.
