Who's better?

Who's better?

if these guys were women john lennon would beat them up

They're both incredible. And they both make awful music. You could also throw Korn's bassist in there.

What is it with terrible bands with amazing bassists?

They're both wasted on terrible music

>both white men

Obviously neither shitlord.

>korn
>bad

die you degenerate poptimist

Slap bass is a meme.

Okay Daquan

>What is it with terrible bands with amazing bassists?

Metallica
Robert Trujillo

You may be on to something here.

mudvayne

Actually an interesting example. Trujillo's the best bassist they ever had, and as soon as he joined they became the worst they've ever been. Saw part of a movie about it once.

>korn
>good

Sly Stone.

Yup. That's the correct answer

Claypoole, obviously.

Claypool by a good bit. Love Mr. Balzary though!

this

You know Les made an album with Lennon's son last year, right?

These dolts ruined a generation of bassists. Their influences (Bootsy, East, Verdine, etc.) understood how to make a good bass line, serving the song but also being flashy where it works.

Flea, Les, etc., with the usual rock star ego urges, inverted that and made flashy bass lines the focus and wrote songs to serve the bass lines (not always, but more often than not). Which doesn't equal novel and exciting music. It equals shitty, superficial music.

Naturally this is very exciting and confusing for young teenage musicians, and Guitar Centers around the world have been rumbling from clumsy attempts at Jerry Was A Race Car Driver ever since.

please.

...

Neither.

Geddy Lee eats either for breakfast.

Easy paychecks

I agree with Claypool but disagree with Flea, I think he understands the role of a bass player and works well within the group.
