I dont know how this work for i have never used Sup Forums before but i have to get a second opinion on this i am currently staying with family in south america and my room is located on the third floor overlooking a rubbish heap about half an hour ago at about 2 am i saw a man probably 20-30 years old rooting through the trash seemingly looking for scrap and i felt pity for the poor soul so i decided to call to him and offer him my mostly intact pack of cigarettes which he graciously accepted but i felt bad giving him so little so i told him to wait and proceeded to fetch 50k pesos and i proceeded to toss them down to him he grabbed it and ran off after i told him to have a good night but at the same time i noticed a parked taxi sitting across the street the driver idled for about a minute before leaving i wrote down his plate number and waited to see if he would return which he did 1 or 2 more times i also noticed that another taxi idled in front of our house so i wrote down his license plate and he also returned once more after about 5 minutes both taxis parked in front of the house and the drivers got out and started talking to each other about me i was sitting by the window and clearly visible i believe they were mocking me for believing myself some sort of superhero which could not be further from the truth as i am the devil himself but that is besides the point as a minute later two cops one woman and one man arrived the taxi drivers proceeded to explain to them what happened with the young man taking pains to stress that he ran off futher into the complex of houses the police heard them out and after exchanging pleasantries they rode off on their motorcycle as did the taxi drivers after hanging around for a bit the cops did a lap and left i believe i heard the female say in a confused tone "but he didnt do anything?" Now i am willing to admit that my hearing is not the best and i may have misheard everything but that is not the point either

The point is did i do the wrong thing? Did i paint a target on my familys back by giving to that young man? Should i simply have stayed in my corner and left well enough alone?

That's what I thought too.
I was worried because the two taxi drivers went so far out of their way to call the cops on the guy so i thought i may have fucked up by giving money to him
