what do you have to offer rock?

Is that what you are asking?

If your tastes grew with hip-hop you can't appreciate anything else. Feel free to pretend.

It's clear now why it had to die

MBDTF, Since I left you, Blonde, Atrocity Exhibition, Portishead the third, wildflower, and Late Registration

I also like Tame Impala, ELO, some beatles songs.

alright so you need to check out:

Olivia Tremor Control - Dusk at Cubist Castle
Tortoise - TNT
Can - Future Days

space rock

limp bizkit is a great mix between top tier rap and rock

>What is the best rock has to offer?
Probably krautrock, zeuhl and rock in opposition. So listen to Can, Faust, Amon Duul, Univers Zero, Henry Cow, Art Zoyd, Etron Fou Leloublan and Koenjihyakkei

probably tylo be chillin

Rage Against The Machine's studio album discography
Unwound - New Plastic Ideas
Swirlies - They Spent Their Wild Youthful Days In The Glittering World of Salons
The Jesus Lizard - Goat

Listen to Pavement, it's a very easy listen.

>someone who likes Kanye and Tame Impala will like Goat
not so sure about that

you're right i don't like this

I'm gonna try my bloody valentine

Go listen to Nick Cave.

Brand New - The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me

go back

Are you a 16yr old who knows 'real' music?

see this is the kind of stuff we could get from black people if rap wasn't so stupidly popular

what's your fucking problem? The dude wants rock recommendations. At some point you listened to this before you were "too cool" so fuck off

Here you go

>Portishead - Third
You already like rock. Explore the other big trip hop albums and listen to Radiohead (OK Computer and after) and Bjork.

Don't you mean educated?

Hey hey hey Mr. Hangman
Go get your rope

that's my bad, I just saw the OP and popped in some of my favorites. I feel like the Swirlies album is a good pick, at least listen to the track Sterling Moss off that album.
Try Portishead - Dummy

We listened to this because we didn't know better and it was the heavily marketed, not because we were incapable of appreciating the merits of better music.

same shit happened to me a few years back. you're about to listen to some great stuff. get the obvious stuff out of the way first:
revolver - the beatles
the doors - the doors
pet sounds - beach boys

i'd also recommend marvin gaye, isaac hayes, al green, james brown, etc. because it's an easier shift from hip-hop rather than jumping straight into folk and prog and the other shit Sup Forums will try to force down your throat. all that stuff is good but I doubt you'll appreciate it

also, just listen to the songs your favorite hip-hop tracks sample. i've discovered tons of music that way

good recs, user
