Would this have prevented WW2?

Would this have prevented WW2?

Cede the area around Danzig to Germany. Cede all (or most) of Lithuania to Poland so it maintains access to the sea.

No because the Jews had declared war on Germany long before the invasion of Poland.

No. Hitler has already taken Austria and Czechoslovakia. Why would he stop on it?
Also, if that piece of land was the only factor then why Ruskies backstabbed us?

World War 2 could have been prevented either by the complete destruction of Germany, or peace without incriminations. Any half measure was doomed to fail.

You are labouring under the hilarious misapprehension that Hitler could successfully be appeased

May I direct your attention to the endless efforts to appease Hitler that failed miserably

>a boycott
Wow Hitler had no choice i guess he had to murder all of those slavs in cold blood

the poles were still attacking german minorities ya goof

BEADY

No

You honestly think Gdańsk was worth beginning a fucking total war in Europe? A fucking Gdańsk? And a genocidal occupation in Poland? For one dumb city? Germany could have simply started a war against Poland and incorporate Gdańsk after defeating Poland. Why didn't they do that?

>Cede all (or most) of Lithuania

Lmao, for what reason?

Last I remember, it was Axis and the Allies duking it out instead of Lithuania which gets occupied by USSR pretty much at the start.

>Glorious Commonweath all over again.
Now that is an exciting plan. Though still, I think Poland should have kept Gdynia.

There was 0 (zero) chance of Lithuania allying with Poland or becoming one state.

Because they already teamsd up with Stalin so they couldn't just let Poland go as Stalin wouldn't like that

No.
The big war was unavoidable.
Two major land powers (Germany and USSR) simply couldn't live one near other. Especially considering their literally opposite ideologies.

It was perfectly feasible. The Balts were already a shrinking minority.

Exactly, the lesson of the Samnites

Seems like West didn't learn this lesson

>It was perfectly feasible.

No it wasn't, our goverment completely cut off all diplomatic contacts with Poland after it's shenanigans.

>1919 Polacks try to overthrow government but the coup is discovered and all the Poles are arrested
>1920 non agression pact is signed between Poland and Lithuania, Poland invades the other day and occupies Lithuanian capital and large chunk of country while their pretence was large Polish minority in our capital, but Poles continued advancing further into country

>On November 17, the mutineers began a major attack. They planned to capture Kaunas, thus threatening Lithuanian independence,[119] by encircling the city from north through Širvintos–Ukmergė–Jonava and Giedraičiai–Kavarskas–Kėdainiai.[115] Żeligowski's forces were about three times larger: 15 Polish battalions against 5 Lithuanian battalions.[120] One cavalry brigade managed to break through the Lithuanian defense lines near Dubingiai, reached Kavarskas, and continued towards Kėdainiai.[115] However, Lithuanians were successful in stopping an attack towards Ukmergė near Širvintos on November 19. About 200 Lithuanians maneuvered through swamps to the rear of three Polish battalions.[121] Attacked from the front and rear, some 200 Poles were taken prisoner while others retreated.[122] The Lithuanians continued to attack and captured Giedraičiai on November 21. On the same day, a ceasefire was signed under pressure from the League of Nations.

After this Poles virtually fucked their shit up themselves regarding anything regarding any union or cooperation.

>Would this have prevented WW2?
The only prevention of WW2 would be mass suicide of all Anglos

>Anglos
>white

Give away most of Lithuania so that Germany can connect to Danzig which wasn't even Germany's war goal? Crisis averted OP.

I didn't say anyone would ask your permission. Simply declare that Lithuania is part of Poland at Versailles, and the cries of the Lithuanian minority would be forgotten as quickly as that of the Rusyn people.

Lithuania or even Baltic countries weren't even brought up during Treaty of Versailles nor did it concern them.

Giving Poland Klaipėda/Memel would've left it in a border dispute with Germany regardless and the narrow strip of coast we had before 23 is not suited for shipping.
All of that is ignoring Germany's grievances with UK/France and the fact that Soviet union would've still existed.
USA not backing Entente in ww1 could've prevented ww2.

>occupied
Why do you Balts keep whining about being part of the USSR

>opposite ideologies
you're both the same, you're both cunts

Nothing would have prevented WW2, moron, just like nothing would have prevented WW1. The incidents/small time diplomatic conflicts were just pretexts for elites interested in war.

WW1 broke out because Germany was growing economically and threatening British/French interests, Russia and Austria-Hungary were competing for influence in the Balkans. If nobody shot that Archduke any other pretext would suffice or would have been manufactured by intelligence services as all the powers thought a war would serve their interests best at the time.

WW2 was basically a rematch of WWI

Again Germany was growing too big for Britain and France. Plus both Hitler and Stalin wanted massive Eurasian Empires with Ukraine as its main breadbasket making it independent from sea trade (Anglo-Saxon power). Both the USSR and Germany wanted to create a global power joining Western Europe's Industries with the resources of Eastern Europe and subsequently challenging America. And nobody had a problem with using the army to achieve it. War between them was inevitable, a short alliance to prepare the battlground by removing all independent states on the way from Berlin to Moscow was just a preparation for the showdown. The conflict of interests was too big, details like Danzig/Sudetenland etc were irrelevant. Wars break out when elites calculate they would serve their foreign policy not because of incidents. Incidents/diplomatic tensions go on all the time even today, it's only when a political elite running a country has an interest in war they decide to escalate them to achieve it.

Russia is built around sucking wealth and prosperity out of it's regions and sending it to Moscow (and later Petersburg). Honestly we don't feel different than an average sober-minded Russian from some remote area would feel plus we have a nationalist spin on it.

No. Pre emptive war against germany would have prevented WW2. Poland wanted to do it in early thirtie, but french and anglos were cucks

>Poland should have given up territory that is rightfully theirs
Fuck off.

>all russians are commies and responsible for commie crimes

>lithuanian wealth and prosperity

>cold blood
t. eternal angle
Thanks for communism and a reduced Germany.

>how to stop Hitler?
>give in more to his demands instead saying NO
Typical of Canadian cucks.

>implying poland didn't take anything from the sweet cake of czechoslovakia

before ww2

There is no data on Lithuania, but I assume it was about the same as Latvian and Estonia

How much of the cuck you have to be to ask this question?

>could have been prevented either by the complet
We didn't. The small area you're talking about had like 90% Polish inhabitants and was stolen by Czechs 20 years earlier.

Nazi Germany was perpetually bankrupt and had to go to war with somebody.

The only thing that could change was that if polish gov wasn't infiltrated with foreign agents, we could have allied with Hitler and wreck ruskies.

The ideologies are the same though, two sides of the same coin.

>was large Polish minority in our capital
I think the word you're looking for here is "majority".

>The small area you're talking about had like 90% german inhabitants and was stolen by Poland 20 years earlier

>The only thing that could change was that if polish gov wasn't infiltrated with foreign agents, we could have allied with Hitler and wreck ruskies.
My dream would have come true in that world.

What are Livonian Germans and where did they go in 1944? Not wanting to degrade you, but you Balts were literally slaves to a Germanic elite that descended from a crusading order.

>Germany could have simply started a war against Poland and incorporate Gdańsk after defeating Poland. Why didn't they do that?

That's exactly what they did dumbass.

>Slav-tier education

This iconography forgot one little, but important thing...

"After Adolf Hitler came to power in January 1933, Piłsudski is rumored to have proposed to France a preventive war against Germany. It has been argued that Piłsudski may have been sounding out France regarding possible joint military action against Germany.[159] Lack of French interest may have been a reason why Poland signed the German-Polish Non-Aggression Pact of January 1934.[150][160][161][162] Little evidence has, however, been found in French or Polish diplomatic archives that such a proposal for preventive war was ever actually advanced.[163]"

What area are you talking about?

Interesting point, but there is a great deal of uncertainty in what's being said.

WW2 happened as a reaction to the wrong side winning WW1. Not a Hitler apologist like a lot of these people, but I'll be a Kaiser Willy apologist until the day I die.

>Lithuanians being slaves of Teuton or Livonian order

Stop embarrassing yourself mate. And even though Latvians were occupied by Livonian Order they managed to keep their language, most of their culture and heritage intact.

Actually Jews were majority according to 1897 Russian census (Warsaw wasn't any better with 37% of Jewish population).

And do you poles actually believe that Vilnius is your rightful clay? I always thought it was a meme of some sort.

It has been Lithuanian settlement for as long as people lived here and Lithuanian capital for over 600 years (including our time in USSR and Russian empire). It is true that population has polonized itself in XVII-XVIII centuries. Just like Gdansk germanized itself, and I doubt you would want whole Danzig corridor being transferred to Germans.
