Every album you post here I will listen to

Just no Sup Forumscore I already have all of those.

Bonus points for obscurity and unusual genres!

Yeah dude has an amazing flow, i recommend this OP

/nu-mu/fag here - how does Sup Forums get all it's music? I've racked up a huge list of recommendations since visiting

Datura Dream Deferred - Space, Melody, Purity

Reddit, particularly /r/punk and /r/indieheads. I also follow a lot of bands on facebook/twitter and they usually suggest bands/record labels they like and then I go check them out.

I just look around the internet, mostly blogspot sites and Sup Forums share archive.
People will meme you into private trackers but don't use them unless you want to turn into a complete submissive faggot who can't find things on his own without help.

All the stuff that people regularly talk about here are highly acclaimed by reviewers. I take it some stuff is discovered by other means like family and peers, or seeking out obscure stuff on Bandcamp and Soundcloud.

A lot of the time it's checking out smaller artists from indie labels and you're bound to find some hidden gems

...

...

The Odds - Nest

aside from friends showing me stuff, I usually look up bands I like and see what influenced them/related bands, then look those bands up and so on. For example I liked Animal Collective, then learned they were mainly influenced by Pavement, then found out about The Fall. Or you could do lastfm or rym or allmusic or even youtube/amazon recs, just any site that'll say "if you like this, maybe you'll like this". Also sharethreads

Oh yeah forgot to say last.fm and youtube reccommends usually yields interesting results and last.fm has some good reccs for similar artists as well. Also starting with a genre's most known and working your way up to the more obscure albums is a good way to find interesting stuff.

Reddit is too secular, they don't seem like a good way to find music except maybe the most known or respected

...

I wish I knew about rateyourmusic sooner. It's my favorite way to discover music.

...

you a fan of this record?

*secluded
Not secular. They mostly just have the most known albums and isolate themselves from more obscure albums in my experience.

...

It's my favourite album
I hope you like it

That's definitely true of the posted links, however you can find knowledgeable people in the comments. The bigger the subreddit is, the harder it tends to be to find new shit. Discussion threads and 'what are you listening to' threads can be helpful as well if you're on a well moderated subreddit.
