It's a manga that's been running for 20+ years now, and it's pretty incredible. One of the things that's most interesting about it, is that the author has basically reinvented himself in his style several times throughout the series, while still keeping it true to its roots. During the first 10 volumes (referred to collectively as the "Golden Age" arc), it's basically gritty 80s style manga of purely dark medieval warfare, becoming borderlined historical fiction. but in volumes 11-12+ literally hell opens up and pours itself onto earth evil dead style but in a completely serious manner. Over the next ~5 volumes you have every bit of bad in his world corrupted and risen to full blown demonic rape-fests; corrupt priests burning everyone at the stake, packs of roving goblins kidnapping women, raping and impregnating them to make more monsters, an evil god-emporer who tries to take over the world etc. It then turns into a traditional swords/sorcery fantasy where Guts assembles a team of rag-tag heroes to destroy the five God Hands of hell, one of whom was his best friend and rival during the Golden Age.

I don't think you understand this man. Hearing the phone ring is scarier than a fire alarm. My finger hovers over the call button and I feel like throwing up. My whole body feels cold and weak. I'd have more haste killing someone than starting a phone call. This fucking social anxiety bullshit is killing me and ruining my future. Then you know all this other bullshit stress I'm under. I'm freaking the fuck out man. I just want to stop it. Kill myself or something. We both know I probably won't, but I thought it was a good show if how fucking stressed I am.

I don't understand to that extent, but a little bit. I had an incident in high school where I nearly got expelled, really fucked me up for a few months, will never forget how scary that phone call was. Been fearful of phone ringing ever since, granted it's not nearly as bad s you have it, but I can kinda understand a little, I have a similar phone anxiety.
What helps me is writing everything I want to say down ahead of time, sentence by sentence if I need to. Then just dial the number. You don't have to call, just dial it. Then just hit call, even if you don't want to, just hit call and say the lines.
You can do it, I know you'll be fine, trust in me.
