Need Sup Forums's help on figuring this term out.
This is a phrase I see here frequently, but have had some difficulty in figuring out exactly what it means.
I've attempting to look up a lot of references on this, however, most of them reek of shilling, attempting to draw comparisons between alt-right and the KKK/Nazi Regime/etc.
I'm curious if this is accurate as per the Sup Forums definition, or, if most online resources in this matter of have kiked out.
Appreciate the help.
Alt-Right is the newfangled attempt to create a catch-all term for conservatives who do not fall into the neo-conservative fold.
The primary connection is in social conservatism, particularly a logical view on race and culture. There is a secondary focus on economics, but this is less set in stone as Libertarians are often grouped into the Alt-Right even though they tend to be social liberals and lots of social conservatives do not believe in a free market.
Okay - that falls in line with a lot of what I've seen. Would it be safe to say that the Alt-Right is Conservatism without the Evangelical ties?

Well I'd say that while not everyone in the alt-right is religious, what separates us from the atheists on the left is most have very traditionalist views and recognize the importance of faith in a healthy society.

I'd say the alt-right is basically the realization that our forefathers weren't stupid and that the beliefs they held about race, certain religions, government policy, and the importance of traditional western values weren't based in some blind, uninformed hatred for anything non-european.

As a reminder, I had no idea what this was when the thread started. But more and more just by virtue of some of the negative attacks on the posters attempting to provide these definitions, I'm starting to think it's something that should be even more... "mainstream"... than it already is.
I do not know why opposition to a thing means you have to be intrinsically belligerent, but providing a dishonest viewpoint does little to bring to light the negative aspects of a movement.

I would have to agree that most of the people that fall under the alt-right label don't really hold republican values. I think most of the alt-right would be willing to accept that democracy is nearly as much of a failed project as the soviet union.
