people said the same thing in 2016 as well, but actually there are a lot of differences concerning the artistic intent and the approach to sound.

this is a pitched-up sample, but you can't possibly identify the source material - it's already on the level of an original composition.
there is no single unified artistic direction of post-nightcore, but the differences are clear: people are satirizing the original nightcore, paying homage to it, expressing disgust about it, about loli anime, about otaku's culture... no matter the direction taken, the result is an immediately distinctive "artizilation" (so called) of the original nightcore.

some people did so, others "uglified" nightcore as a response to it
the first post-nightcore album is Arashi-bu's "OwaranaiCORE (Oh! What a Nightcore)", which features a lot of both approaches, so we can say that both are correct and both are an art-response to the original nightcore
for example, if you listen to this, you can hear it sounds at first like a proper nightcore song, until you realize there's no instrumentation coming in and the voices become spliced up, giving it an inhuman and unsettling feeling

Hey NEOCAFE here, When I make post nightcore I like to focus on texture and tonality, which is why I add complexed layers of delay and high amounts of reverb the the music. I also like to mess around with the channel eq to make interesting parts of the song stand out
