I don't download anything until I'm ready to listen to it, if I don't have the time I put it in a list of things I'm going to eventually download instead, that way my backlog is just text rather than hundreds of GB of mp3s

It's not that bad, I have the same shit.
Although I need to start either deleting stuff I grew out of (there's still freaking Breaking Benjamin and ton of crescendocore from my teenage years), and also stop downloading full discographies cause it's dumb af. LPs only and noticable EPs for artists that are known for them.
Also desu I find being able to have a nice music library better than trying to stream it or rwhatever.

I wouldn't say this is necessarily an addictive personality, that's less common than falling into a routine. tons of people fall into routines and live a healthy life, you just have to get something out of the routine and not have it take over your life.
