the whole thing makes my ears bleed

>album is contained in a cover song

>band releases an album of covers to fulfil a contractual obligation to the record company

It's from the Spongebob Squarepants Battle For Bikini Bottom video game.
Kino game really.

Example?

>album contains a cover song
>it's the best track on the album

I have an ex who fucking loved this album.
That's some ugly ass cover art.

SQUIIIID WERRRD TENT AY CULLS!!!!!

...

not a very good album in general, but the Anarchy in the UK cover really pales in comparison to the rest. It doesn't help that the original song isn't even that good

You got more Battle for Bikini Bottom memes?

>album contains music

Ape of Naples

A lot of spongebob games were fucking great before the show went to shit. BFBB was the best though.

Would be interested to hear from anybody who doesn't instantly skip the rolling stones cover

>Allman Brothers Band
>Eat a Peach

I think it's good and much better than the original

the better version

I don't believe you

...

it was Mick Jagger's favourite version

if you're memeing rn whatever, but if you actually think that the Devo version has no merit I'd be surprised to hear why. I think it's a really fantastic cover myself.

for me it works as a joke for like 20 seconds

I guess they were trying to make a point about the old rock dinosaurs being dead? I don't really know but its so bland

and your vagina

I don't think it's like that at all, it kinda works this sense of unease and like pseudo-Talking Heads' "Life During Wartime" vibe into it. Just think about it like the original doesn't exist, I think it works really well by itself.

This, a shame they never made any new spongebob games

Lol I'll try, the first few seconds always have me going for the skip button like pavlovs dog

>IT AIN'T EASYYYYYY

That seems weird to me, there's nothing that offputting about the track against the rest of the album.

I fucking hate the original version but the Devo version is actually pretty good
>I CAN'T GET ME NO

This.

Am I the only one who really likes this track? I think it's such a hard-rocker, it almost sounds like a Zeppelin song or something.

This album would be 7/10 if it wasn't for See Emily Play

ain't even an insult though to be honest family

yeah, it's just that good

the title track being?

oh like pic related?

nvm im retarded

Love that track. My fav Ziggy tracks are the underrated ones actually, this one, Lady Stardust, Star

Alt-J with Left hand free (confirmed by themselves)

It's my life

>cover of a pop song is intentionally as abrasive and atonal as humanly possible

>implying going up is a mere cover and not an astonishing and heartbreaking conceptual re-imagining

...

>albums where the cover song is the only good song

Same here man, I truly think Lady Stardust is the best on the album and one of Bowie's career bests

Lennon's Rock 'n' Roll

The Pixies cover of Head On is better than the original

Confession: I enjoy the shit out of this. It's just such a chill folk album, I throw it on anytime I wanna do other shit and it gets me in a happy place.

Fucking fantastic game, the spongebob movie game was pretty decent though

All Along the Watchtower

Hi Anthony

I wanna be friends with Kyle MacLachlan. Is his wine any good?

>first exposure to a band is a good cover they did
>the rest of their discography is shit

John sloop is one of the best song on this album.

It is as good as rhe original, if not better

Jimmy Mack was the only tolerable song on The Painters, and even that was some of their lamest stuff yet

then why worry, OP?

>Nobody I talk to knows about the original Talk Talk song
>they just know Gwen Stefani
>I play the original on my work playlist
>"wtf this cover sucks"

You all know it's true

star is the worst song

Close second IMO. Neither is really bad, but It Ain't Easy just feels out of place on the album

yeah, i can agree with that. i wish he had used velvet goldmine or john, i'm only dancing.

Came here for this

It hurts me to say, but this is true.

>when you try to like it but you're too afraid to admit you hated it

it's an inherently shit song

>album contains only cover songs

"Stuck in the metal for you" might be the worst cover I've ever heard.

man who sold the world

I actually love it. They did a great job of making it their own. Unlike most fucking retarded covers that barley do shit to transform the song.

>Fuck Avenged Sevenfold

Yeah but star is complete filler. I have to agree

Vvelvet Goldmine would make the album so much better

Generally I feel like it's the reverse, if a band is too good for cover songs, they won't include them on their albums so bands that do include cover songs, the cover is often the best song because it's already a great song at its core that the band had nothing to do with

this

the devo and the residents covers are the best covers of satisfaction, and are both better than the actual song
