When I have a headache, my mum make a warm lime drink for me.
It likes the usual lemon drink but with lime and warm water, add a lot of sugar and a tiny bit of salt. Goes to sleep and instantly, my headache was gone.

What that guys drink does is hydrate you. The citric acid and salt helps do that. The sugar isn't an active ingredient it's probably just to make it taste better.
It would probably work better without sugar.
