Are there any new must-see shows or anime's that I might have missed out on in the past year?

Are there any new must-see shows or anime's that I might have missed out on in the past year?

On the same level of Breaking Bad, Dexter S1-S4, The Shield, or The Office.

And I mean good shows, not overrated shows like Stranger Things.

Funny that you mention Stranger Things, because I just finished the second season a few minutes ago. It was alright, but the first season was better. Definitely an overrated show, but still entertaining to watch.

If you finished Breaking Bad, I assume you watched Better Call Saul? There are three seasons out right now.

Gotham, Mr. Robot, Vice Principals, Game of Thrones, and Silicon Valley are some good shows I've seen recently.

True detective S1 is pretty good. Assume you've seen the wire, you should definitely see it

>Stranger Things
>overrated

I'm out

Almost finished season 1 of the expanse, I really like it so far if you're into space shit.

The only thing Stranger Things has going for it is the 80's vibe it overdoses you with. Is the only reason people see it.

Not last year but watch Durarara!!
Thank me later

Watch Fargo or Westworld

>Mr. Robot

My man, I feel like season 3 is shitting on the series though, in a funny way.

I've seen GoT and Better Call Saul, but not the rest, are they actually classics?

Seen

Seen

I'm looking for the next classic. Are there any?

Fargo is must watch if you look good, interesting TV shows

Like*, not look

Anime:

21 Days
Shinsekai Yori

Silicon Valley if you like comedy.

Pustina is only one season but I liked it a lot

Sorry, 91 Days, not 21

>And I mean good shows, not overrated shows like Stranger Things.

Yeah I can't watch or enjoy things that too many other people like either, on account of being a cuck like you.

One word.. shameless

American Crime Story: the people vs OJ Simpson, but only if you're into trials, lawyers and shit.

Battlestar Galactica
I avoided it for years but after the first episode I was hooked.

Mindhunters is a fucking fantastic show, very interesting and really well made. Highly recommend this, but if that isn't your thing then I would recommend watching Blacklist as an alternative.

vikings is pretty good

do you care about language? If not then check out Gomorra and Romanzo Criminale (both italian).

ping pong the animation

one of the best anime of all time

>implying Dexter was ever good
Fuck off normie

Spartacus is awesome, and the Wire might be the best show ever made.

If you look for something that stays with you give Derek a go. A real honest comedy/drama show.

if u like scifi defo watch the expanse.

Luther is well worth it and if u like that kinda stuff The Fall is pretty great as well.

for the rest, go fuck yourself

I'm seeing a lot of recommendations and it's getting hard to differentiate between a show that is a must-see and one that is just good.

Shows I tried that I didn't like: Mr Robot, Shameless, Vikings was pretty interesting for a while, Stranger Things was interesting for a while.
I haven't watched S3 of Fargo yet.

Stranger Things isn't overrated so much as it is just sort of boring. It's like season 1 tries to set something big up and kinda lets out a balloon fart at the end. There's attempt at suspense with no real tension, the psychic girl story ends abruptly, the "bad men" squad just sort of vanish, the monster and its world are kind of dull... There's promise, but yeah. haven't watched the second season yet.

a couple of seasons of American Horror Story are pretty decent. I enjoyed Roanoak, at least.

Spartacus is one of my favorite shows, The Wire bored me most of the time. The Shield is superior.

True Detective season 1 is the best season of a television show of all time currently.

Westworld has one season atm, but is probably best show on TV right now.

Better Call Saul is also worth watching.

I haven't seen it yet but my mates all rate peaky blinders.

My go to would be netflix /marvels dare devil.

...

I liked The 3% on Netflix
Future where everyone lives in a shithole in Brazil and at 20 gets to try out to live with the top 3% on an island

Watched it, the finale is forgettable and made the show very ehh for me.
Westworld was predicatable and made it ehh.
Better Call Saul is alright

Yet the kids in Stranger Things still manage to speak as if their scripts were written by modern-day millennials. E.g., "Seriously?" Garbage.

Twin Peaks?

OP: you like Breaking Bad (my favorite show) and The Shield (my second favorite show). You might consider Bloodline, on Netflix. Haven't seen S2 yet, but S1 is the best psychological-revenge story I've seen, and the acting from the entire cast is phenomenal. The people I've recommended it to either loved it and couldn't stop watching, or they couldn't get into it. Seems pretty polarizing in that way.

True Detective season 1 is also great too, as people here say, though the plot is super convoluted.

American gods...

braindead
propaganda-ey
but pretty good for a few laughs and the plot idea

Can't say of all time.

Any season of the Sopranos overrides all

new season of tokyo ghoul

Old school
One of the greats.
These kids don't know anything About that

The last kingdom

Watch Get Shorty it's like great value Fargo and no I don't mean that as an insult.

stranger things isn't overrated. ur letting the fad make you biased

stay away from american gods, overrated piece of crap

Dexter was nothing more than liberal gore porn.

it really is though
don't let the 80's nostalgia filter make you biased

This, just keep in mind it isn't an anthology series like Fargo.

it has nothing to do with that. it's got a great cast of actors. the kids make the plot of a horror style thriller believable. they also don't overract which is hard for kids. everyone is great on that show except the pedostache douche in season two. this is a good show. luckily i watched it before i found the hype. otherwise i'd prolly be like u and hate it becuz it's neverending reminder from sheep like disneys frozen.

the show stands up to the hype. those duff dudes are starting to be the next wachowski bros who will lose their minds one day and chop their dicks off

THE PUNISHER'S GONNA KIK SUM ASS THIS FRIDAY ON NETFLIX!

>a couple of seasons of American Horror Story are pretty decent. I enjoyed Roanoak, at least.
nigger-centric Rowuhnoak sucked. Any AHS that's any good has Twisty The Clown show up as a character or cameo.

David Lynch is a friggin' genius

Watch "Stan Against Evil", ya faggots!

Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency.

The Man In The High Castle

Preacher on AMC

Baskets

Mr. Robot aftershow

this

These are great.

A must see that is not well-known and I doubt many, if any at all, here have seen is this

Meh, Walking Dead's alright. If you can suffer through the second season.

I'd say Dr. House is pretty good too
Ofc its older than 'past year', but still

Hannibal season 1 and 2 are good, not a must-see.
Heroes season one if you like comics is also good.

nice

>second season
you mean entire series

Mostly monotonous. Skip to the acclaimed episodes and you'll have a good time
Watch the first season maybe. Rest is shit or just okay

Malcolm in the middle? Seems like many people really like it and many people really hate it for some reason

What about the plot do you find convoluted?

> Deadwood ***
> Justified **
> Rome *
> Rectify (? I haven't seen yet)
> The Leftovers ***
> The Sopranos ***
> The West wing *

COWBOY BEBOP

TENCHI MUYO

Nip Tuck

dude.. watch hannibal and the blacklist.. fucking good

I'm 5 episodes into the Deuce and it's shaping up pretty nicely so far.

70s drama made by David Simon (The Wire) about the beginnings of the porn industry in NYC.

OP here, I'm making a new thread soon listing all shows and the shows that grabbed my attention from this thread, in an attempt to figure out which should be watched first.

have you seen Limitless

Vikings is an excellent series.
The main characters were real
It is easy to follow the plot and characters unlike GOT.
It doesn’t film on a huge budget but well worth watching.
*spoiler*

Keep an eye out for the propwash from the ‘oar powered’ viking boats.

Mad Men
Preacher
American Horror Story (each season is its own story so whichever sounds interesting to you)
Black Mirror
Boardwalk Empire

Criminal Minds Hands down

Black Christmas

Pretty good.

Line of duty

SHOUTING LOUDLY TO GET ATTENTION .... WATCH BILLIONS

Ray Donovan

what were u in prison for

it was good

The Leftovers

It ended after three seasons, but it's a complete story. It's surreal, incredibly emotional, and extremely beautiful. IMO its the best TV show to ever land on Earth.

Also Twin Peaks: The Return, also probably one of the best TV shows to ever land on Earth, but in order to like it you'd have to be a fan of David Lynch's surreal films and have watched all of Twin Peaks including the movie they made so you can try to understand it. It's hilarious and horrifying of a series though.

If you've not already seen The Sopranos, yes it really is that good, go see it immediately.

The Punisher releases Nov 17th

Peaky Blinders is great. New series starts tomorrow.

The Wire should be a given it is 2017 for fucksake.

You wouldn't have all this BINGEWATCHBOXSET culture if it wasn't for it, and it started the whole resetting of TV as an art form.

You have to watch it properly though, read what is going on with the scene and characters. You won't getting anything from it if you watch it in half your laptop screen while cruising PornHub on mute with your dick in your hand looking up each actress to see if they've done nudes.

Abandoned thread and watch it now before these cunts start dropping spoilers. If you've managed to get this far in life without any you're lucky, even if it means you have lived in some hellish shit stained shell.

tldr; The Wire now.

Southland is a really good cop show. My brother says it is one of the most realistic cop shows out there, The wire being the most realist

Must really give Ray Donovan a chance! epic series

My wife is a cop. She said the same thing about both shows, she says southland is a little dramatic. We watched it all and we really enjoyed Southland. Seen the series a couple of times. Seen the wire about 4 or 5 times through.

>Irish as it gets

If you're looking for anime I guess there's that re:zero or whatever it is and also irregular at magic highschool?

I've been slackin on the anime lately

high maintenance is excellent
web series good too

oh shit there's a season 3???
hell yes nigger

*SPOILER TALK FAGS*
I used to like it, but once Jimmy left for like the third time the story just devolved into everyone being retards. Lip ruined his life with alcoholism because a milf told him to move tf on. Fiona just causes one problem after another because of her own incompetence then cries about it until someone else finds an out for her. Frank is doing the same shit he has done since season 1 and is still the best thing about the show. And the whole Debby storyline is just fucking annoying
