Can anyone explain noise/harsh noise to me?

What are people meant to get from it?

acquired taste it is

It is what it is. Its there because it can be.

some sounds are more interesting than others
no sense in trying to understand why you don't like this sound versus that noise

You know how people put their fan on to stop them from feeling lonely? It's like that but with a wall of tv static

i'm pretty sure only synesthetes get it

Start off with NASA's Sounds of the Planets. You'll think you're listening to an ambient album, but no, they really are the recorded sounds of the planets.

Then move towards binaural and wave music, there's lots of it on youtube so have at it hoss.

Once these become commonplace, try white noise and lowercase music.

Congratulations, you went in the complete opposite direction, that's the road towards silence, have some Merzbow, bitch.

it's like punk music without the pop. you listen to ir for aggression. it's like filth or cop to me

I do that so I don't hear the blood rushing through my ears. It's a thunderous, sanity-obliterating roar that I cannot bear to hear.
