anime sucks

>_>

To this day, I don't feel I completely understand the ending. Would you like to give me your take?

my take is that i was the "world" was some kind of tv set just a very advance that was long forgotten and just kept redoing same thing over

My favorite "big" aka the Big Dog.

Shit see, I thought everyone was a clone in some sort of system, replaying the same programming over and over to keep the experiment going for the machines to be used for war testing or something.

maybe they are just ending was the most mind fuck i ever seen
ending was the biggest let down to me

Yea, I kind of agreed. I was hoping for something bigger. But at the same time, I really didn't know what I was looking for. Almost like, someone outside the dome comes in to reveal some big conclusion. Or people from space come back to reveal that humanity has traveled the stars and they are the surviving colony of those left behind centuries ago or some shit.

or that the city was one of space colony and a war cut them off from rest of the space

bumb

Sup Forums is random i can be here

This site used to have a good explanation for how the ending was supposed to go, but it looks like it's been locked up

can you give a brief summery?

check them

At the end, where Roger is driving down the street in the newly remade Paradigm City, He's heading for the negotiation with Beck from the first episode. As he exits his car with his briefcase, we see Angel in the passenger seat acting as his assistant. That was always her role in the system, to assist Roger in his negotiations in the system. Then as before, Roger and Beck make the hand off and a blindfolded Dorothy is passed off to Roger. She takes off the blindfold, looks up at Roger, Roger realizes something about her, then we the audience are left to wonder if Dorothy is an android or has been remade into a human girl.

Trips!!!

that be good ending id take it
or would she remember before the restart ?

Knowing anime tropes like I do, I'd say no.

Correction: No, she would not remember, but she'd have a vague feeling they met before and that it was good.

i only watch few anime's so i not know them so well wish they went different way in ending

id take that
how would show change if she was human?

I leave that to your imagination.

the world is a reconstruction by the AIs that's why no one remembers what happened before 10 years ago, and why people just have some skills and seem to know instinctively what to do. And the main facilities are bellow ground, that's why everyone has an implanted terror of going bellow ground. In short I really enjoyed it, and the english dub was superb because Roger Smith was very Bruce Wayne-ish to me.

wait if she was human then her father would never build the megadeus would they even meet?

crazy idea what if the AIs miss the human so they
reconstruct them ?
in hopes of making a pilot for them?

the author's words: The series ends with the awakening of a new megadeus, and the revelation that the world is a simulated reality. A climactic battle ensues between Big O and Big Fau, after which reality is systematically erased by the new megadeus, an incarnation of Angel, recognised as "Big Venus" by Dorothy. Roger implores Angel to "let go of the past" regardless of its existential reality, and focus only on the present and the future. In an isolated control room, the real Angel observes Roger and her past encounters with him on a series of television monitors. On the control panel lies Metropolis, a book featured prominently since the thirteenth episode, with the cover featuring an illustration of angel wings and gives the author's name as "Angel Rosewater". Big Venus and Big O physically merge, causing the virtual reality to reset. A white flash subsides, and the first scenes of the first episode of the series play out. New versions of Dorothy and Angel watch Roger drive down the street as he delivers again his first speech of the series ("My name is Roger Smith. I perform a much needed job here in the City of Amnesia"), although he is a little hesitant this time. The ending title card, "We have come to terms," appears, and the credits roll.

But to answer you, it could very well be, maybe it's somethign akin to a child missing its deceased parent.

ahh ok

i really like this idea might not be true but this could work some where else

yeah that's just my opinion, take it with a big pinch of salt

i im just idea of them missing them is neat idea

i loved that show when it was on toonami, but now that i'm older i can't believe how up its own ass the writing was.

that said, animation was still fucking killer

what do you guys think "Cast in the name of God, ye not guilty" means ?

mine is that the Megadeus are tool to be used only by ones they deam worthy

Made a godlike AI, and like you said only permit access to those they deem worthy

made by a godlike*

i wonder how they deam them worthy dose it depend on the Megadeus ?

Perhaps what Dorothy and Angel see and decide?

"Because you're wielding the powers of God, your actions shall always be righteous."

maybe but i was shown they can be over redden like how Big-Fau in the end they are machines

I see it more of a matter of 'might makes right'. Those with the power to conquer are the ones who control the world and no one can say they are unjust.

guess so
guess it up to what the person him self thinks is just

Gods actions are always righteous, as they say.
