Work in a co-op in a medium sized city, I see a lot of "alt" looking people but none of the ones I've talked to are that far out there. I would expect to see more them in a medium city like ours since fronting and pretending we're more "cosmopolitan" than we are seems to be a big thing in the art scenes here.

I've lived in a fairly liberal city my whole life. I've never met one. I'm not denying that they exist, but I'm fairly certain they're a lot less numerous than the Sup Forumsacks let on. I work in a liquor store and "those" types come in all the time looking for craft beer or obscure wine and whiskey. Most of them are cool and fascinated by my beard. But every now and then we get one who's a complete psycho with social skills worse than an autistic person and they always try to cause as much trouble and be as difficult as possible. They have no lives, no real hobbies or interests, and as stated above no social skills. So they're looking to interact with people but don't know how to do that in a sane and healthy way. I'm naturally dominant though without being aggressive so they generally don't try shit with me, or if they do it lasts all of three seconds until they're looking at the ground.
