Fancy clock ahmed. First one.

Excuse me, what?

Your invention

What kind of music do you play or want to play?

IMO the neck pickup isn't used enough to matter, and it's usually muddy enough to want the single coil cut. Especially if it's cheaper, since you'll hardly ever use the thing.

Ignore this guy. The neck pickup is as versatile as the rest.

I already have S-S-S Stratocaster that I use for some roch and Jazz. I want this to be for heavier things.

Idea is to put either:
Duncan SH4, Duncan SSL-3 and Duncan Hotrails

or

Duncan SH4, and two Duncan SSL-3

Humbuckers on the neck are nice. I forgot how I ever got along without one.
>heavier
Then H-S-H, or even H-H.

If this one is gonna be for heavier music, go HSH or as the guy below me said, even just HH.

Err.. above me.

>Checked
I figured, if I put a 5 way switch, I can just exclude Single coil if needed and basically have a H-H.

You need to adjust your shit if the neck pickup is muddy

i'm all about that p90-H

H-S-H but here is a nice variation:

ironstone-guitar-pickups.co.uk/humbucker-hss-hsh-coil-tapping/

wtf i almost exclusively play on the neck, just like jimi hendrix

what are you fucking retarded? lmao

TRY THE P90X BRO IT'S SICK, LIKE SPYDER AMPS AND SHURE INSTRAMENT CABLES, THE TONE IS FUCKING DEAF

kek

Obama approves.

The single is going to introduce hum and noise. First decide whether you want that to be part of your signature sound.

this

HSS, put a mini-hum in the neck. I'm a fan of the Seymour Duncan Hot Rails myself.

I'm acoustic

it's spelt "autistic"

don't ever (You) me again or I'll call the cops

Call

...

can someone explain to me what these fucking letters mean or where I can find out? I've been playing on the same guitar for years now

Is this officially a get thread?!?

Bro depends on what you're playing.

Id prefer HSH for the sole purpose of using the neck for leads and arpeggios

If you're doing a more indie pop thing S S H Id say is preferable

Go H-H if you want to go heavier. EMG-81/85 combo

IT IS! IT'S A CONFIRMED GET THREAD!

this help?

for ants?

H-Humbucker
S-single Coil magnet

X-Y-Z is confivuration:
X-Bridge
Y-Middle
Z-Neck

yes

no you just have shitty pickups or a shitty setup lol

wire it for HSH and add a coil split or coil tap. its the best option, just don't put active pickups in there.

I planned to put two on-off-on's and a 5 way switch if I was to go for H-S-H configuration.

i've always liked the HSH. just a personal preference based on the way i like to switch between the bridge and the bridge/middle single coil. i sold the only guitar i had with that setup but i'm getting another for christmas. yum

>S S H
i have a strat with that setup. shit is cash

>active pickups
i agree with >751533848
seriously, if i'm not Tony Macalpine (which i ain't), this is just a touch too much IMO

Double Bartolini soapbar or go home kiddo.
Failing that, HSH with tapped coils.

>Only 4 winds of copper
Those wouldn't be very good pups m8.

good for a laugh

H-s-h with coil split. Nothing to be decided. Dumb ass

You going to buy a guitar with that setup or buy a shit tier guitar for neck and body and just male your own config?
