I'm looking for stuff similar to early Judas Priest. Rocka Rolla to Stained Class era specifically. Can't get enough of all those albums and I want something similar. It's pretty hard to recommend metal per se because most metal eschewed blues really quickly. To say nothing about psychedelia, which went out of fashion even faster.
And even when we speak of hard rock, back in the day Priest was pretty unique in being one of the heaviest acts out there; when I think of similarly sounding riffs, I can only think of Sabbath but groovier, with more funk. Blue Oyster Cult or Pink Floyd are the closest thing I can think of, but it goes without saying they're nowhere near as heavy as Priest
