HONG KONG
at night

There's nothing cyberpunk about the real world. It's boring and nothing like what people thought it would be back in 1986.

FeelsBadMan

>no World War 3
>no human settlement on the Moon and Mars
>no body augmentations
>no walking mechs
>no flying cars
>USA hasn't collapsed
>no AI has been created
>no US President has been a woman
>I don't have an evil twin brother separated at birth for the sake of being my nemesis
>no World War 4

Do we even cyberpunk, bro?

>no twin towers

hmmm...

This.

Honestly this. Take smart phones as an example, companies don't want the exterior strength to be any stronger and also don't want to make the phones software completely un-minipulatable because the design for the perfect phone would be readily available so no one has to spend more money on phone upgrades. It's all bout the money.

Kowloon Walled City, doesn't exist anymore, but it was the closest thing you'll get, at least aesthetically

The future is more likely going to be like the movie 'Her' wich I hated, and I never asked for this.

Do drones count? Criminals use them to smuggle drugs and phones into prisons.

No matter how good you think you are, you will always be backhacked by somebody better

ya that counts
also the night vision every military has now always felt like cyberpunk to me

>millions of people wasting their lives immersing themselves in virtual worlds and/or fapping to computer generated waifus
>people losing billions of dollars investing into internet money scams
>homeless people with laptops going fishing using salvaged drones
>3d printers printing their own component upgrades so they can print even better component upgrades so they can print even better component upgrades...
Cyberpunk doesn't mean running around wearing helmets with neon lights on them

Video very much related youtu.be/keeBU0CxcXY

The fact that, if you look closely, you can see the fact that we are quick approaching the cyberpunk age. Just look at the advance technology and the fact that we have anarchists and punks everywhere and an ultra-elite completely out of touch of the rising hostilities. Fentanyl has already become the "death-stick" esque super drug, all we need now is cool neon cybernetics.

this

Guys I used to know had a prosthetic arm that he would build stuff into.

Last I saw him, he had an Galaxy S5 and Nintendo Ds built into it. Would turn on Pandora and blast beats from his arm all the time. Was pretty cool.

Once the magic awakes the lesser races the dragons will come back, and then we're all fucked, so ka?

Also India considering to implement general basic income

Also robotics, AI. Are you guys blind?
Amazon already makes most of its money by being an AI company, not a shopping site.
