Since when are comeback albums this good?
Why is 2017 such a good year for reunion releases?

I loved Narkopop, Slowdive s/t was hit or miss, mostly miss and I'm not listening to a Brand New album.
>I'm not listening to a Brand New album.
your (huge) loss, it's better than their other albums by a mile
It's better than Daisy and YFW but not TDAGARIM and Deja.
Wasn't too impressed w/ narko. Nothing tops Zauberberg for me.

First album in 15 years
Zauberberg is definitely my favorite as well. But I felt like Narkopop is the most similar to Zauberberg, which I really liked.
go home sp*tify shill
How would you propose I post revised track orders?
Slowdive s/t was the only one of those I enjoyed but desu I'm just not that into Brand New or Gas generally.
There have been some incredibly mediocre reunion releases/attempted comebacks this year though:
>Ride - Weather Diaries
>Depeche Mode - Spirit
>Wire - Silver/Lead
>LCD Soundsystem - American Dream
>The Jesus & Mary Chain - Damage & Joy
>Spoon - Hot Thoughts
>The Magnetic Fields - 50 Song Memoir
>GY!BE - Luciferian Towers
>Lupe Fiasco - DROGAS Light
also predicting that the new albums from U2, Eminem, Beck, Björk, and Judas Priest will get a lukewarm reception at best
on a positive note though, Nine Inch Nails has been on a roll with these EPs. and I'm looking forward to the new St. Vincent album, the singles are great
Judas Priest just put out an awesome album in 2014
The cutoff was set at 8 years
they haven't been relevant or doing anything notable since Painkiller
Their 2014 album was very notable and relevant. New guitarist as I recall and he worked out really well.
Lots of others listed there also don't qualify. Brand New set the cutoff at 8 years. Otherwise this would be just an ordinary 2017 thread.
Deja is overrated as fuck mall-emo garbagio. Daisy better than each record on that list.

How are these comebacks? Lupe and GYBE had albums in 2015, Wire had one in 2016
maybe not GY!BE, Allelujah came out a lot more recently than I thought, but it's been a minute since Lupe or Wire released anything very well-received.
I liked Silver/Lead more than I expected to though, they might still have a great late-career album left in them. probably their best album since Bruce Gilbert left
that's true, taking Brand New as the standard for a comeback/reunion most of those examples are pushing it
wait that's not right, best album with Matthew Simms. Red Barked Tree was great
Wait Ride had a fucking comeback too? Holy shit.
Last year had some great comeback albums too. ATCQ had a wonderful final album.
>ATCQ had a wonderful final album.
overrated
Gas 8/10
Slowdive Haven't listened yet. excited.
Brand New 2/10, sorry it's fucking awful.
>Brand New 2/10, sorry it's fucking awful.
It's fucking great
>Brand New 2/10, sorry it's fucking awful.
imagine having taste this bad
>American Dream
>Bad
and the GY!BE album is not even out
American football wasnt good
