No thanks.

See

I saw them at The Catalyst in Santa Cruz in 2012. There were like 5 black metal fans there and the rest were just gutterpunk faggots. They literally started fucking moshing and the band told them to fucking cut it out lol

Santa Cruz rarely gets good metal shows. We did get Opeth tho.

atmospheric black metal

and the sub genres blackgaze and post black metal

One of my favorite musicians is actually a local to Santa Cruz. His "band" (black metal antisocial 1 man act ftw) is called At Dusk.

Check out the album Anhedonia, you won't be disappointed.

"no"

I am guessing you're new to the genre to imply so much of it is fash when it's not at all. So I'll just rec the entry level stuff:

Burzum - Filosofem
Dissection - Storm Of The Light's Bane
Ulver - Bergtatt
Windir - 1184
Darkthrone - A Blaze In The Northern Sky
It is definitely black metal as it brings the intensity, the melodies, and the interesting set of atmospheres that can make pop music interesting.
