Programmers of Sup Forums, which language do you use and why?
>c# mostly because unity
>bit of php, sql, js, and other gayness
No Python?
I use C# .NET with Visual Studio on W10
I make small windows applications for myself mostly. I created my own music player, my own secure, unbreakable encryption/decryption algorithm, my own chat spammer, and a couple other applications for myself
Anyone here wanna try to break my algorithm?
brainfuck
Yes
Mostly C++
I will try
Replying to myself here just cause I'm feeling cocky today. I've encrypted a sentence with ten words in it using my unique algorithm which nobody on Earth has a copy of.
Anybody here good enough to figure out what it says?

Good luck!
Sorry forgot to reply to you guys. Here it is:
Ten words
Depends on the project and situation.
At work mostly .net (c# or vb depending on what the customer wants).
C/c++ for anything multi platform or performance critical
Rarely php these days, most customers want aspx.
C or Assembler for microcontrollers
Can work with most languages. But python and lua makes me cringe.
no one cares about your useless trasg or you
Here is mine
>OpIsFaGgOt
Its really hard, good luck guys!
>can't crack simple encryption
>gets triggered
>ell emm ay oh
I guess my encryption is better than I thought, since even Sup Forums the infamous hackkar can't crack it
i decoded it to this.

@F
Then you have failed to decrypt it. It's ten words in plaintext.
Can you give us the source code of your encryptor? I want to live independently and without being spyed on
I use the Wolfram Language. It's one of the most modern and most convenient languages currently out there. Even better than Python.
Currently working with php/laravel at my job.
Can also program in java, c# and python though. Too beta to look for a new job though despite hating working with web applications and especially front-end faggotry.
Nope sorry. That would completely compromise it's sheer unbreakability and strength. Plus there's probably over 1000 feds looking at this board at any given moment who would LOVE to break another encryption algorithm.
Malbolge is way better.
Did you study computer studies to get the job?
I never graduated. I got my job by someone vouching for me and kept it by adapting quickly and being good at it as I had no experience in web development beforehand.
A scrambler isn't that impressive. Also if your ciphertext isn't secure if people know the crypto alg... it's a terrible crypto alg.
Well, fuck. Guess I'll have to stick to Rijndael then..
No man hasn't 8+ years of Swift experience. That girl is a man-eater but I would still give my left nut, and the left half of my right nut, to be her next bootycall!
It's not a scrambler silly. And you must not know how encryption works if that's your argument.
Know why base64 isn't secure? Everyone knows it inside and out. MD5 isn't even secure anymore, because everyone knows it inside and out.
You think it's a terrible crypto alg? Decrypt this: Until then you're shitting out your mouth basicboi
RIP
He has a point there. For the record, WPA2, which is an open protocol, has also been cracked just recently and shouldn't be used anymore. I think WPS is the only viable option now
JavaScript
For front end web development
serpent is by far the most annoying
like I wanna just get like 30 pictures of something retarded so it looks like a CP set and do like serpent > twofish > AES > IDEA > serpent > twofish > AES
nigga comes back into the holding room and is like THAT JOKE COST MONEY
python, c
C#, does everything I need (mainly programs that utilize SQL)
You're asking someone to un-hash a hashcode produced by your hash alg lmao. You don't understand crypto.
WPA2 is AIDS
It's actually NOT a hashcode, it just LOOKS LIKE one. I intentionally programmed it to spit out an output that resembles Base64 visually, but in actuality is just an encrypted form of the plaintext string input. For someone saying others don't understand crypto, you SURE DON'T UNDERSTAND CRYPTO
>my sides
human resources fags aren't the smartest people around. they'll just arbitrarily pick a number of years experience that they think will only bring in top candidates, they are not interested in knowing anything about the actual position they're advertizing for. that hr retard probably doesn't know swift is a programming language.
What is the point of a crypto alg if you can't distribute it for use? The perfect tool is useless if no one can use it.
>doesnt understand cryptography
>"You don't understand crypto."
Python, php, lua, sql, a bit js
I wish to learn c#/c++ and maybe Java?
Matlab
My wifi network is literally open and unsecured. Ask me if I give a fuck
I'm not the only person who can use it. I've created a simple interface for encrypting plaintext as well as files with my algorithm, which I have distributed to others within my organization.
>unbreakable encryption/decryption algorithm
So it takes one person's HD being compromised, your alg is out and cracked. Again, useless.
Attackors could enter your network without any prior-authorization in case you do not have a fitting subnet-mask and might then even eavesdrop on your entire network in order to prepare further attacks. Do you give a fuck?
WPA2 was not cracked, if you're referring to the KRACK vuln, it's a very specific exploit if you're already on the wireless network
Attempt to decode: Feeling stupid after hours of effort is normal.
Nope. It's not stored on a single hard drive.
Base64 encoding is not even the same type of concept as MD5 retard. MD5 is a hashing algorithm. Hashing algorithms can't be reversed. MD5 is considered weak because it's chances of collisions are high (two different inputs resulting in the same output). Base64 encoding is meant to be reversible, it's no different than converting to binary (base2) and back.
All they would find is books I write and porn I watch
>still hasn't cracked it
Shut the fuck up assholes. As a reminder. You still haven't cracked my encryption ;)
>Everyone knows it inside and out. MD5 isn't even secure anymore, because everyone knows it inside and out.
I don't even know where to start
What are the books about?
wouldn't it be possible to upload illegal shit on your pc if your network is open?
you're not me
The porn industry
Have a compiled version of the code?
With the right exploits, sure. But a bigger threat would probably be the attackor downloading child porn through the network, making the owner of the network liable.
Lol. Ok decrypt this. 10 words same game.
AODHF2j4LKJDOWEU88EKLWJEW7EKHWW
My crypto algorithm.
Of course I do and of course no I'm not giving it over lol
>being this dum
C# because everyone uses windows.
Python is fun if you wanna get into machine learning and shit.
>i cant figure urs out so ill change da subject........
The
Both types of C. And when that doesnt work, you can usually botch it in Perl
This
You obviously don't understand crypto then, and you're algo is shit.
Kerckhoff's principle
python, fortran
obscurantism != secure
Give us the source code and we'll crack it.
I also have an encryption algorythm, try to crack this!

Just simple proof a crypto alg isn't strong if you give one ciphertext, no plaintext, and ask someone to decrypt it. Attackers have more information than that don't be naive
Java for Android and JavaScript for backend, but they kinda suck.
oooh now hes got you
You can run Java on Android? How the fuck do you do this, I've tried and failed multiple times on that
Unironically Swift, some Objective-C, and Java because we did it in school.
I'm a developer for a company that makes apps for personal clients. I'm a glorified freelancer.
Serious question IT-Bros
This has been bugging me for a while, but I guess this is a good a place to ask as any.
I got my business degree 6 months ago, but I realized that I like building and coding better (ive been learning myself Python for the past 3 months).
I'm pretty sure that I want to do this profesionally in the future so I'm wondering: Is it possible to make a career as a programmer/future CTO without a CS degree?
I'm a Dutchfag, which is one of the IT hubs of western europe, so we're drowning in dev jobs (mainly Java, C+, and Python/Bi/DS)
too gay
RSA has a simple encoding algorithm and knowing it doesn't give you dick squat for decrypting anything unless you're the NSA and have spent 40 years doing nothing but multiplying 255 digit prime numbers
>business degree
lel
For real though, yes you have a chance. Your degree doesn't really matter, what matters is what you do. If you get a job as a programmer and work your way up, you'll be fine. Your business degree might be a bonus when you get to higher levels of mgmt.
If you want to do IT you can do that with a business degree and some self-teaching.
If you want to be a software engineer, you should probably go back to school.
>i can't crack your algorithm without the source code which means it's a shit algorithm
lmfao i wish you realized how autistic you sound right now. obviously all decryption specialists personally have a copy of the sourcecode of the encryption they're trying to break. jesus christ haha
i'll give you a hint. the following encrypted text contains the word 'nigger'
pastebin com DMtGYceC
security through obscurity can work, but unless you've got some random component it's vulnerable to frequency analysis. also unbreakable encryption is an oxymoron, if no one can break it then no one can read it, which is just hashing tbh
javascript, livescript, coffeescript
C#
(html,css)
also java for android apps
sql?
KILL ME
Of course it is. I've seen so many people do it self-taught; I would even go so far as to guess that about half the IT workers are self-taught. The real question is: Do people with a CS degree have it easier to get a decent job, does it open them any doors that are closed for normal programmers?
>RSA has a simple encoding algorithm
you mean encryption algorithm?
And it entirely depends what key size you use. Small key size RSA is utterly broken.
Looks a hell of a lot like aes
ENGLISH
It really isn't too hard to do that with a strong computer.
>telling someone not to be naive
>while being extremely naive
>ISHYGDDT
and yet again, unable to produce a very basic requirement for algorithm verification
You're either a troll or actually retarded if you think knowing the algorithm makes encryption insecure. Either way, you should jump off a bridge.
What the fuck is it with the management meme? Every high end manager I've ever met at small to medium sized tech companies have been dropouts who started their own company, that eventually failed too.
I'm CTO without CS degree but I was twelve years’ experience.
management meme?
companies have managers, it's not a meme
>still can't crack it
>getting incredibly mad up in here
>top kek
>calling others autistic
>bragging about algorithm he made
hmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Comparing encoding to hashing
Nigga you fucking dumb.
>0010 0000 0001 0111
>not writing everything in straight binary
see:
ok confirmed troll thread
I was referring to the idea that managers all have to have degrees fuck wit
