This movie has known historical inaccuracies. There was no stand-down order. "Fly a plane" wouldn't have done shit, not that a "plane" was even available. Over 135 heavily armed militants attacked a lightly defended compound, it was over in less than an hour. Started at 9:30, "rescue" came at like 11pm, 90 minutes later. And they were attacked too, barely made it back to the CIA annex alive.
It's a political movie with the lies you want to hear. Hear them if you want, I prefer the truth.

Benghazi was a well coordinated surprise attack, with heavy weapons, rpgs, gun trucks, etc. If you had 500 people go banzi on the white house, you would get in. All you have to do is overwhelm the defenders, and you can do that with 10 to 1 numbers. That's the problem with terrorism, it finds a soft target, and we cannot harden everything.
