Final day of the 2005 Ashes comes pretty close.

>argentina scrapping a 1-0 win against Peru in the last 2 games of the qualifiers
>raining like hell both in the stadium and home since both were in buenos aires
>transmission gets all kind of static and fucked up
>minute 90'
>peru ties after a mascherano blunder 1-1
>ARGENTINA OUT OF THE WORLD CUP WTF WTF WTF WTF

>Palermo subbed in (known for being a good person, and always scoring heroic goals in all kinds of weird situations, like scoring a goal with a broken leg, or scoring a header from the center of the field)
>hadn't been called to the national team since the 90s because he missed 3 penalties in a row

>minute 90'+3
>this happens
youtube.com/watch?v=NLUwV1S1j-g

>total and complete poetic redemption

Probably the most celebrated goal in Argentine history, even for Maradona

youtube.com/watch?v=wSxY88G5Bw0

>from benig in the second division in 2011-12 to this

Watching Real Madrid win their well deserved La Decima

Mexico coming back from a 0-2 deficit to beat USA 4-2 in the gold cup a couple years ago

>CHI

I have since matured and now root for both teams evenly

>being this much of an ungrateful cunt

Butler's interception

i said i've matured since then

1. Steelers Superbowl 43
2. Germany World Cup 2014
3. Steelers Superbowl 40
4. Penguins Stanley Cup 2009
5. Pirates wild card win vs Reds 2013
6. Penguins Stanley Cup 2016
7. Probably USA World Cup vs Mexico 2002, maybe vs Ghana 2014 etc.

The final of the old intercontinental cup in 2000 when Boca beat Madrid with 2 goals of Palermo in 10 minutes. Nothing will ever come close to that.

All the Mexicans that invaded my home town have mexico flags on the back of their trucks. I'm sure they all get welfare, great country

our 2018 WC win

what's your home town?

what part of madrid are you from?

>nuArgentines actually believe this

That was fucking sad. Think about it, anyone that wasn't a casual thought

>shit, if we have to celebrate a late 2-1 win over a last place Peru, we're fucked in the world cup

And don't try to tell me this was anywhere nearly as celebrated as Maradona's goal against England or you know, the final which Argentina won in that same world cup. Get the fuck out of here with your 2000s bullshit

Moraga knocking Uefadrid out of the Champions League

>delusional autistic animefan can't understand emotions and thinks the most celebrated goal will always be the most important in the highest possible stage

i get it, you don't know anyone in real life

As a pens fan even though we lost the series I loved this game in 08 a lot too

When Lebron James chasedown blocked Iguodala and Kyrie shot a clutch 3 in game 7 of the 2016 finals.

The moment Xabis penalty was announced and when Dudek somehow stopped point blank Sheva in extra time

The third race in 2005 when I realized that theres no need to panic Ferraris dominance is finally over

And of course watching the Camera suddenly shift for some reason and the linesman quiet when the ball fell in front of Torres

i member when he scored a 40 meter header

2006 WC of course since I'm a millennial kiddo
Man I remember all the cars honking outside literally a minute after >we won

This youtube.com/watch?v=yE7E36Uf56s

That night was nuts.

>scoring a goal with a broken leg

Yep. Classic one. Spawned some great primitive-era memes.

18-1
Red wings 08 cup win
Crosby's golden goal

Not even a question.

I'm not sure what he's talking about, either

Maybe he's talking about that copa del rey goal of his for Villarreal, but he broke his leg AFTER the goal, during the celebration

When I finished a marathon in under 4 hours.

the assdevastation was glorious

>Germany World Cup 2014
That was Brazil m8

he was still recovering from the broken leg, he wasn't supposed to play, but Boca needed him so he was subbed in in the last 10 minutes against River and scored almost jumping in one leg

When Cavs beat Warriors last year. I freaking hate the Warriors smugness and was happy to see them be defeated.

Not a Pats fan but I won $350 on squares from this final score and I hate the Xehawks.

Portugal winning the Euro's.

Okay hear me out and ignore the flag.

Oldfag here, emigrated to the States in '97 from Leicester.
May 2 2016 - I cried buckets.
Second only to Steve Claridge scoring the winner against 'boro at Hillsborough to win the League cup (game I was at - glorious desu)

>>>/heem/ :3

Which team desu?
Deportes Temuco getting promoted is definitely up there

MANCHESTER CITY ARE STILL ALIVE HERE

This fucking race

This exactly. The first was great, but that second one was incredible.

Asian cup final in Sydney, I was there live. Australia had the lead until extra time when korea scored. Atmosphere was tense but I never felt that we would lose and the final goal by Australia in overtime was just a great moment.
youtube.com/watch?v=ItDQ6u-c_zs

i can still hear the echos of the play when i go to the arena and look into that corner.

Fuck did you say white boi?

Fine. Then the 2003 WC final.

Basically no teams I support ever win it all, but this was pretty special.
youtube.com/watch?v=wm7ievQ2bHo

I can think of a few
Confecup 1999
Borgetti's go against Italy in 2002
London 2010 football gold medal match
Buyern in 2013 CL final

This. Super Bowl 50 was definitely great, but that team wasn't very good all things considered. That victory was mainly satisfying because Newton got his shit wrecked.

I'm so glad pic related got into the Hall this year. Super Bowl 32 and his subsequent 2000 yard season was all he needed to lock up is candidacy.

The infectious happiness still makes me feel so happy for him like it did 14 years ago

2006 College World Series

I ran outside the house and up and down the street after the final out was made

1. Steelers Super Bowl 40
2. Steelers Super Bowl 43
3. Penguins Stanley Cup 2009
4. Pirates Wild Card 2013
5. Penguins Stanley Cup 2013
6. Penguins Stanley Cup 1991
7. Penguins Stanley Cup 1992

Nothing will ever top finally experiencing the Steelers sealing the deal that first time. I'm old enough to remember the final Chuck Noll years, so it was a long time coming. The 2009 win was a far more exciting game, but my own excitement level was tapered by the win a few years prior. I was still pretty young for the Pens first two Cups, so my excitement level then was relatively superficial compared to these recent wins. If the Pirates ever manage to go all the way, they might take the number two spot.

*5. Penguins Stanley Cup 2016

Is this actually considered cheating or foul play? It seems like a risk vs reward tactical strategy to me, like intentionally fouling in Basketball.

You use your hands to stop a clear 100% goal and you get kicked out of the game, but you force your opponent to take another shot which he might miss. I don't get how that's dirty or wrong, it's a risk vs reward thing.

Unless I'm just completely missing something unique to the culture of soccer/football

It's seen as something that's dirty and dishonourable, you just don't do that in football

youtube.com/watch?v=ydNSxxZHI-k

Without a doubt.

nice defending

Gave rise to many sarcastic "should've passed it to Keogh" chants

brits are really something

Broncos winning the Super Bowl was great (born in 95 and only cared about sports starting 2005, so I never got to see their first two bowls), but I think the Xehawks getting cucked against Brady was the happiest moment. I fucking despise the Xehawks since they fucked the Broncos in the Super Bowl, but mostly because of their literal faggot nu male fans. If I could go back to a point in time for a sense of TRUE happiness it would be that day, just thinking about it gives me chills.

Oldfag here. You just don't know what Indy means.
