please respond

for reference im looking for something as good as The Sound from this album

it's the pinnacle

literally nothing else sounds like this album or Swans in general

god damn whenever someone mentions The Sound I gotta relisten to it.

>YOU DESPISEEEEEE, WHAT I LOVEEEEE
>Sup Forums in a nutshell

This is honestly breddy gud even though it has been memed to death.

/TheSoundGeneral/ when?

It really is lol

>post-rock
no such thing

Yeah it's decent. Super turned off by GYBE lately though after their childish antifa stance

- Allelujah don't Bend Ascend
- Every Red Heart Shines Toward the Red Sun
- In the Absence of Truth
- What We All Come to Need

Far from being the best post-rock album but this was the album that got me into the genre and still easily my favorite Mogwai album.

Let me guess?
>Dindu Nuffin™

????

I just dont like it when bands get political.

I'd say I slightly prefer F# A# infinity

Easy

>tfw you could release Helpless Child, Animus, and The Sound and have 38 minute 10/10 LP, but you make over two dozen other songs for it
This is what separates Swans from the rest post-rock.

How to be a werewolf fucking goat

lmao so true.

>add 20 other tracks
>it still gets critical acclaim
other post rock bands are you even trying?

How the hell is someone supposed to listen to this album in one sitting?

By not being a pleb

GY!BE has been political from the start. Politics don't bother me that much as long as the music is good and I doubt music can sap and impurify my precious bodily fluids. Besides, nearly all musicians are quite open about their political views even if the music doesn't reflect it. I do like Nokturnal Mortum and Deströyer 666 but I want to listen to other music as well.

Same here but for some reason it's not widely considered to be their best album.

Go for a walk in the middle of the night. That's the best way to enjoy Soundtracks.

Many movies last as long as this album and no one wonders how to watch a movie in one sitting.

It's a really great listen all the way through, especially with your eyes closed. If you ever have the time, or even when you're getting ready to go to sleep, try turning the lights off and listening to this album. Time flies by pretty fast when you do.

It's engaging enough that every part of the 2 hours is worth it.

fav album of all time.

man fucking "Animus" is a godawful song

nothing comes close

>Say that to my face you Jarboe apologist

It's the best song on the album you dingus.

Have you heard Blood Promise from Swans Are Dead?

I love Pram, but they have one song on this album thats post-rockish

really won me over on that one fellas

...

>but for some reason it's not widely considered to be their best album
Because it's less accessible. Too much ambient for most people's taste.

The Final Sacrifice is amazing.

If you're capable of watching a movie, you're capable of listening to SFTB.

Are we talking about the vinyl or CD version?

I'm a socialist and I hate antifa.

this album isnt clicking for me like soundtracks did

why

...

because it's different

cause it's shit compared to sftb

I'm not and I hate you two equally.

>I just dont like it when bands get political.
so you didn't like the band from the start?

...

Most artists are political. Some are just more blunt about it than others

>Because it's less accessible.
oh come on, like really?

Good choise.

version 1.2

/thread

checked

Mush less depth.

Agreed. I feel less emotion from it. I'm surprised its not that good considering how much Sup Forums shilled it.

Is The Glowing Man any decent?

Haven't even listened to it, because I was so disappointed with the few previous albums but based on a live performace around six months ago, I'd say no. 90's is their golden era.

It's fine, not great

TBK > The Seer > TGM

Analogue - AAD

Related to Swans.

I've been kind of clicking with their earlier stuff. Do I need to know the studio versions of the songs on Public Castration or can I just listen to it and be equally blown away?

...

Diana Ross n> Michael Gira

Prove me wrong. Woo-oo baby, where did our love go?

This Will Destroy You
Caspian

I don't see why you'd need to know the studio versions, just go ahead
