I come into work tonight (11 PM to 7 AM shift) and I see an email (not for my requested time off) stating that there's a training thing tomorrow that I have to go to from 11:30 AM till 2 PM, and I already have plans made for when I would have woken up, around 3 PM or so. I would literally get no sleep before work. So fuck it, I'm not showing up to the meeting, I'll come in tomorrow for my last shift, and that's it. Not gunna wait for them to approve or deny my time off request at the very last second and then keep dealing with this shit. I'll go job hunting again after the New Year.

Oh, it's not the first time they've done this. But this one came out of nowhere. I assume it's what that call this morning was about but even then it's not really enough notice at all. Next moves are to enjoy the next month, and then after, if the apprenticeship hasn't moved forward yet, I'll start looking for part time work until I know more about it. If it falls through flat, then I'll start looking for another full time job. Maybe try some warehouse or industrial work of some kind.
