It's true, it is technically a sin. There actually are studies that show the more you masturbate, the more likely you are to unsatisfied with your life/depressed. Luckily "sexual" sins are the easiest to forgive (as long as you aren't doing them over and over again on purpose and treating confession as a get-out-of-jail-free card and depending on the act).
