Muslims and Jews lived on relative good terms until after ww2. Compared to Jews in Christian countries, Jews living in most Muslim countries were less discriminated against and had more economic and political power.

I'm sure you know the old testament states that Jews are not allowed to establish their own countries, which is the biggest reason Israel is paradoxical.

if you believe land is a god given right then this is a reasonable thing to question. without society there is no natural right to property therefore whoever is the strongest owns the land by default, but as civilized humans we developed a system to protect natural rights in a fair and just way. one way to decide who deserves the land without a theological debate would be to consider who owned the land first(there's many things that they could decide is fair), but too often religious and personal reasons make both sides feel they're entitled by any means necessary.

It's got nothing to do with Jerusalem and Islam, the state Palestine was under British mandate before WWII and they were applying for statehood.
