Tell me guys, how does it feel to see your nation win a relevant sports trophy?
Tell me guys, how does it feel to see your nation win a relevant sports trophy?
...
Felt pretty great. It'll never happen again.
Felt great man.
Felt great reclaiming our national past time from gooks and island spics
A mixture between relief and euphoria. *tips*
Felt great until the druglord felt like shooting guns. Lost an uncle, two windows and my beloved dog who had only three legs, that day.
>bretti gud feel
Imagine being America. Being so useless at proper sport they made their own which no one else bothers with at all
its alright kinda feels boring after a while
2006, I was in Italy with my family for the World Cup (we lived there for a while). It was a very small town in Bari, and the commune had set up a giant screen in the middle of the piazza at the center of town. EVERYONE was there, watching together, holding hands, high tension, incredible sense of togetherness.
When Fabio Grosso scored that last penalty kick, the feeling that rushed over everyone at once was indescribable. Giant roars from the entire town erupted, everyone was jumping up and down, people who were complete strangers were crying in each other's arms, people going around kissing each other, driving cars down the street honking horns, people marching through the roads waving flags, finding friends and embracing each other in tears, chanting, screaming, etc. It was pure ecstasy, and easily the best day of my life, by far. I remember marching through the street with my friends, shouting the Italian national anthem in unison, and doing cartwheels and backflips in the middle of the road while everyone was cheering. I remember spotting my dad in the crowd with his friends, and we both ran into each others arms and just started crying together. It was a beautiful moment for everyone in the country.
I know it sounds silly, but some people just won't understand the pure feeling of joy from something so seemingly trivial as a soccer game. It was more than that.
That's what it feels like, and I do hope that you win at some point and experience it. You guys deserve it, I've always been a fan of your team.
>be skeptical and pessimist throughout most of the tournament, including the final
>go insane after the winning goal and the final whistle
>literally TSUUU while walking the streets of Lisbon
>get a load of TSUUUs in reply to your own
I thought I would never experience this great feel after 2004. I hope younger generations get to feel it as well in a few decades.
It was great but the pain from 2004 will never be erased.
...
Have you considered a career in country music?
t. Alberto Happybosa
meh, nothing, my life remains shit
Sucks to be you then.
I'm finally fucking free from 2004.
>I will never TSUUUUU irl with TSUbrothers
feels bad
>muh heritage
pretty normal desu. It's when we don't win that feels strange.
Bra7-1l, you should really listen to a nation posting numbers like this
I remember the 2002 world cup, since the games were in korea and japan the final was like 3am in a monday in here, still looked like the fucking carnival was on, after Brazil won everybody (EVERYBODY) went out in the streets, lighting fireworks, making barbecues out of nowhere, shooting guns (t.Favelafag), and generally going insane. The next day was literally a national holiday, my school was closed for a couple of days because everyone was still celebrating, and then we got another day off a couple of days later because I lived in the capital of hueland, and the players came on to meet the president. And to top it all off one of the players (Lúcio) was from the same hood I was, in the outskirts of the capital, so it was another day off for us when he came back there and was paraded around in the firetruck. Those were the days, man.
Almost greentext Grosso penalty kick, forgot you're talking about the final and not the far more delicious semifinal
I got to watch USA lose to Germany at that tourney =3
>tfw I was in Portugal during the 2010 final
>plenty of Spanish lads honking their cars and partying in the streets
I wanted to die
My brother and I wanted you to win the 98 one, fucking glad robben doesn't have one
I can attest this.
hehe feels great, right?
t. Tony "the cheese" Petrozuli
It's pretty awesome watching your country win the World Series every year since 1991
>Portuguese immigrants celebrating in the street
>Decide to join in and so did hundreds of other non-portuguese.
P fun. Northern Ireland will never win anything so getting to the last 16 was a good celebration.
>tf
>tp
every time
I think you are doing alright per capita.
It would take some hardcore eugenics & doping to give such a small nation a world class football team.
>literally TSUUU while walking the streets of Lisbon
>get a load of TSUUUs in reply to your own
>another feeling I'll never experience in my life
fuck I didn't need this right now
Football is literally rooted into our culture. I'm sure that at least 80% of the males in this country played football at a club at some point. It's seen as a weird thing if you haven't.
Imagine being England. Being so useless at proper sport they made their own in which they are never good at all
rekt
than you burger friend, you made me relive that magical day
easily best night of my life, with the semi final against Germany being close second
i used to live in a small town, the priest set up a (very home-made) giant screen in the football pitch and the whole town (about 1000 people) were there
i still remember the complete silence, like everybody stopped breathing and even hearts skipped a beat simultanously, before the loudest cheer i've ever heard erupted
i stayed out partying until like 1am, and i was 10 yo
i even got the first kiss i remember back then
AHHHHHHH STOP ITTTTTT
AAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
It's better if you don't need penalty shootout. 1994 almost killed my grandpa. 2002 was breddy gud.
2018 will be better.
>tfw your nt won't win anything else in your lifetime
might as well an hero
don't think the us celebrates much
I wouldn't know
Feels great desu
feels good man
Bretty good. Just find a sport to care about and win trophies.

I was ill during the semifinal, spent the whole night on my bed, the only thing I remember about it is my grandpa waking me up telling me >we scored.
The penalty shootout was a surreal experience. Sadly I was still a wee lad at the time so I couldn't enjoy the mayhem to its fullest, but it was quite... a thing. Last thing I remember clearly was watching trezeguet miss his shot through the smallest TV screen in town in a bar, and then complete chaos.
2012 was wildly different. I feel like the general disbelief of having made it this far with that horrible team and manager overcame the enthusiasm. I went to this small theatre that had a screen set up but by half time we had already gotten over it.
I know that's probably super weird, but I still to this day randomly remember winning the 2014 WC and can't help but smile
dunno
cartel wars and beheading world cup dont exist, Alberto
I was 9 in 2002. People go fucking nuts running around the streets. But from what I'm told '94 was much more crazy because of the 24-year drought.
Dunno m8 ;_;
>plastic pizzas
Stick to fat egg Chad
If gold medals don't count, then I've no idea
but were dominating Rugby, you dolt
Name one time England won gold in basketball.
>handball
>waterpolo
for what pvrpose
That sf was keks
>proper sport
>Burgers will never not be triggered with this
Truth smarts kek
>American banter
Feels bretty gud
Totally irrelevant.
Club competitions >>>> country competitions
was pretty much the same here
>people on this board will probably never get to see and feel such a moment
Who wins the korfballb owl?
t. Catalan
FUGGGGGG THIS THREAD IS MAKING ME CRY 66 WHEN
No, it was not, you were too young to remember and it's mixing your memories. Every cup has 3 game schedule and the final is played on the third. 2002 final has started on 10 A.M on brazilian local time and it ended at noon.
Feels good but happens so often it's getting boring
yeah most of the games were at a normal time, I think the only KO match at 3am was vs. England.
66 for England world cup 2018
hol up I´ll ask my grandfather
oh he´s dead
You've got some pretty good players coming up desu
Nope, I remember it started at 8am and ended at 10.
y la del 11'?
> Copa America
> relevant
The match against Costa Rica on group stage was on this schedule too.
So google it.
>2004
>final ends
>we are the champions
>the air erupts
>everybody out partying
>out on the town square all night
>on my dads shoulders, waving greek flags
>next day he makes the best bbq of my life
>dad has been dead for 5 years
>always remember him like this
Bittersweet for me desu
Meh, it's probably an overrated feeling.
Those are proper men sports.
Just be glad.
i am glad, it's just that nobody cares
t.rizzo frankie delano mufini de coreleone
Amazing feel, you heart feels like it is growing and growing until you feel it cannot longer fit in your chest but instead of feeling a heart attack you feel as it pours into other people and so you look at the guy next to you and you can see you share the same heart and are experiencing extreme love for the same thing.
Was born in England, I'll never know.
showing your plebness here
still sad desu
> imagine being America
I'd rather fucking not.
The Dutch always do well in Kickboxing (although I'm sure that's probably not the kind of relevant you're talking about)
I´m not gonna lie to you, it feels good.
dont know we have never won a world cup and the only thing we have won in football is the mighty "Asian" cup
en.wikipedia.org
The wikipedia page has the starting times for each match, and taking into consideration there was/is a 12-hour difference between Brazil and Japan, I believe my guess was correct.
Then again, I can't trust wikipedia completely.
>2004
>Greece-Czech Rep
>set up projector at home
>watch with neighbours
>Dellas scores at 105'
house erupts, everybody's hugging each other, can hear screams from nearby houses
>3 days later
>at godmother's wedding
>bitch should have called it off
>priest rushes the wedding to go watch the match
>at post-wedding reception
>huge indoors area for the reception, no TV
>waiters set up a small TV in a small balcony
>literally everyone has left the indoors area for the balcony or nearby cafes
>Charisteas scores
>can feel the balcony moving as if hit by a small earthquake
>match is over
>screw the reception, father takes me and my brother to celebrate in the streets downtown
Literally the best feeling a person can get through sports. I wish I could feel it with my kids once again, although it's highly unlikely.
Says germanistan
Kek
i had a great time that summer. went to a few games, sat in the north korea active support, had a blast and the final was great
doesnt beat 1999 rugby world cup though
>Canada won Olympic gold for hockey in 2010 and 2014
>Jews prevented us from competing for 2018 gold
We really dont care, we have three world cups and the amount of fucks is still at an all time low
